Most children know a lot of NSFW sites / sources.

As someone below 18-

Mostly everybody in my class know what it is.

Even if its not alowed(its not and i support it not being allowed) most people know,
you know i have a little cousin, which i heard whispering *ex, while i was there, no idea why she said but i heard it.

Im not saying the fact as a 18- person i watch NSFW content, i dont .just stating a fact

Actually the human brain typically isn't finished developing until 23-25 years old. As such, we should be classifying anyone under the age of 23 as a child.

VR Chat does have rules against offensiveness. I would say to report people using objectionable avatars for being offensive. Just complaining in comments about things typically never gets anything fixed. You need to get the attention of the developers to affect change. I'm 42. My favorite movie is John Carpenter's The Thing. As such, I do have a few avatars that might be considered NSFW not for nudity, but for gore/body horror. I don't use them in public worlds. Just when goofing around in friends-only worlds with friends. But that doesn't me that even I want to see porn avatars. I'm not on VR chat for porn stuff. Take that to a private world, if you want to use it, like my friends and I do with horror stuff.

It's a little odd that despite everyone knowing the game is filled with kids, the some in the community still feel ok with lewd avatars in public.

i've gotten real ♥♥♥♥♥♥ tired of it too, and hell the parents i've been with allowed a 12-13 year old to pull that ♥♥♥♥ unsupervised, and the dude's dating some e-girl who's probably twice his age, and when i try to explain how thats a bad thing, they pull the ♥♥♥♥ of "durr know ur place durr ur not a parent" or some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like that.

It's only a matter of time before some rich persons kid gets caught up in something they shouldn't be and VRChat is all over the big networks.

Even if they eradicate all NSFW content and chase away all the adults who want a proper platform to hangout on. You'll just be left with the same unsupervised kids and suspicious adults on the platform.

VRChat should have just targeted the adult demographic and kept the kids at arms length. Plus there's no money in catering to these kids anyways...

the only "serious" issue here is the epidemic of poor parenting. Children and quite frankly teenagers as well do not belong on the internet, especially if the only barrier between them and hardcore pornography is a "Click me if you're 18" button.

I see ya'll are in 2 camps:
1. "NSFW avis are bad and should be removed
2. "NSFW avatars aren't the issue, unsupervised kids are."

How about a 3rd option: the ability to not see NSFW avatars. Be it through a toggle in the settings menu, worlds that don't allow them, or both. I feel we should provide more options instead of taking them away. Let kids have their safe spaces in VRChat to just vibe, while keeping the adult spaces the way they currently are.

This game has adjusted the terms and conditions and made the game 14+.

But still kids under 14 play this game and make loud noises in the game world

Adult avatars can be reported, but there is no way to deal with children under the age of 14 playing in violation of the terms and conditions.
