The Valve Index is the top of the line overall VR headset right now.
Some of the competitors might catch up later this year, though.

I would agree that the Valve Index is as of now the best headset overall, including VRChat.

No price limit? Valve Index.

It’s compatible with Vive trackers for full body, it is high res, it has a high refresh rate, and the controllers have finger tracking.

the Hz in the hmd is what is being accounted for.
so no 240hz on the Index.
it can go to 80Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz.

your 240Hz monitor won't magically make the Index a 240Hz headset.
kinda doubt the most powerful GPU's can handle VR at 240Hz at the Index's resolution. (let alone all games at 144Hz, cause in VR, frames have to be consistent and pretty high)
cause remember, you are pretty much rendering the game 2 times for each eye, with each eye being a slightly different image to create the ''3D'' effect.

and i have to agree.
best VR headset right now, is defenitely the Index.
no further questions posible.
(only con is the LCD like blacks in the Index, it's bareable mowt of the time, but in very dark worlds you will be able to notice the grey(ish) blacks, thanks to the LCD's backlight.
with me coming from the Vive's OLED, this was something i had to get used and took quite a bit, but the insane (jump in) clarity is defenitely worth it.
