Still not a new user?

I have made four friends and have 22 hours in the game, but still have the "visitor" rank. I have heard that it typically takes much less to get the new user rank, so idk. I am a flat screen player, if that makes any difference.

hours barely count in trust rank, you'll gain trust rank faster by adding people or getting added.

no? steam accounts and facebook accounts can gain ranks, they can not however upload content

more friends, more public roaming not getting muted/blocked, game time has very little effect on rank.

It is also possible that you have been getting blocked by other players, which will take points away from you in the trust system, eventually causing you to drop rank if it gets bad enough into the Nuisance rank.

Upload stuff (avatars and worlds) and add friends, that's what work faster.

What will work against you is getting blocked (and probably muted too) by other players.

visitors cannot upload anything lad

you have to be a new user and have a vrchat account (at least that is how it is for me) to upload anything, but that is just 1 rank off from the 5 ranks you can get, and it shouldn't be too hard to go from visitor to new user

this is false, visitor rank is given to any account that isn't linked to a VRChat account. To get New User, you must link your Steam/Occulus/Vive account to a VRChat account. That will immediately grant you New User.

From there, actively play for a while, make friends, upload avatars, or upload worlds to make it to higher trust ranks. There is an exploit with one of these metrics that can power you to max trust rank fast, but I won't elaborate on that as it is an exploit and is 100% a violation of the TOS.

unless something changed, i can tell you getting new user instantly is not true. It sure as hell did not happen in my case, nor the other visitors i've seen walking around
