How do you play this?

Is the whole game just talking to people? I'm really confused

You select an avatar, head to public worlds ranging from ones with mini-games to just regular lounging worlds and VR"chat".

yeah, is just like...discord but in virtual reality, there are some maps that has plenty of games like shoters, among us, horror maps... etc, all made from talented people. so yeah is like a place to meet people, make friends and chat and play together. sometimes is fun sometimes is boring depends on what kind of people you find.

It's not a "game", it's a social media platform. You can find games people have made in it, but it is not a "game" in of itself. Its purpose is to provide VR hang out spaces for people to socialize in, like an online chat room or forum, except in VR.

There is mini games but not many ppl play them, just meet ppl and talk :)

I play only Among Us worlds. I study english in vr chat, it's kinda funny and useful. I think u can get way more fun if u will use headset.

Well, here's my jaded way of playing VR Chat: Search for and hop around worlds, look at interesting stuff, block eboys/egirls/anime on sight, and happen upon an intelligent conversation like once a month with someone I'll never see again.

I highly advise against taking it seriously, whatever you do.

If you block people on sight for using certain avatars I'm not surprised you rarely find any conversations.
