Many voice changers go too far and become unintelligible (often the free ones).
Other times the volumes aren't set right and the mixer will broadcast far too loudly or too quietly. (I find a lot are overly bass boosted)
These issues are compounded with using a bad microphone (such as what's built into the quest.) Use a good mic, like the Antlion ModMic, to feed the muxer as pure a signal as you can.
I like a slight 'artificial' tone, or light autotune dealing with protogens for instance.
However, i don't appreciate hearing what sounds like a fax machine phone call where i only understood one word.
Set right, a modulator should get a 'Cool, neat voice' from people.
Set badly, you'll get muted.
However, I am alright with those who are just using it as a way to communicate with those who are mutes.
It gets old. Especially the vocoded musical one, jesus christ that's an instant block right there.
Getting bent over a simple question seems like something only someone with a cardboard personality could get mad over.
