how to get rid of nuisance rank

i have got this rank and i need to get rid of it i was playing music for my friends and people that wanted to listen to it but when new people join they just block me and it has put me into this rank and i want to make new friends and with this role its not working and just to let people know that if someone is playing music just leave it not good to block me.

You wanna play your music for friends go make a friends+ or private room. Ofcourse you can do it public. but most people will just outright mute or block you. As you may have noticed.

To get rid of it. just play like normal again it will go away in time. if not more people decide to block you.

Make a private room if you want to stream to your friends. This is textbook what blocking is for: Broadcasting stuff in public that no one wants to listen to.

It takes a bit more than that to reach nuisance rank. You have to be blocked/muted by a lot of people. I mean by the majority of people you see and not just the random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And playing music is normally not enough to be muted/blocked by that many people to overcome your in game hours and friends list growth. Good music often tends to gain friends from what iv noticed in game.

Depends on a few things though like what map, the type of music, explicit language, how loud it is, and what people are currently doing. But I'm rather close to 100% certain theres more to this than just playing music.

To be fair people do abuse the block system. In this case it would be better to mute an individual, as blocking causes rank harm and should be reserved for situations when they are doing something bad without stopping when asked not to.

In order to get a nuisance rank you have to have many, MANY people doing it over quite a while... as said, this isn't some one or two people "abusing" the system on a innocent person once as it is the person getting a nuisance rank was being more then just "mutable" but being repeatably and constantly pushing what's acceptable in public to the point past "mutable" that's why the next step is "blockable"... the feature is there for a reason.

There wouldn't be a "block" feature if just "muting" someone worked... if people don't want to be blocked to the point of being labeled a nuisance and cause "rank harm" to themselves they should stop doing it ~long~ before it causes them "harm".... there are consequences to one's behavior, even in VRChat.

I’ve had people admit to blocking people who went near them while they were sitting in a mirror with their friends. That’s all, people should just utilize the hide avatar or mute button more, or vrchat should implement a disable all button next to block and a “are you sure you want to block this person” warning.

Then a "are you really, really sure you want to block this person??" and then next a "are you absolutely positive you are really, really sure you want to block this person???"... how many hindrances need to be overcome to block people who are annoying and giving the annoying people more chances? It seems like you're judging the people using the block feature rather then the ones blocked...

There's also people that have admitted in other threads that they like being and doing whatever they want in public worlds because "It's VRChat and it's for doing whatever we want even in Public Worlds"... the problem being that the "hide avatar" or "mute" doesn't come with a consequence as the "block" feature does... and most that complain about being blocked have wanted to do whatever they want without having to worry about any consequences... the "but the innocent are suffering" is a easy copout of the weakest kind.

So I also still will stand and say... if they got a nuisance rating from being blocked many, many times... they deserved it. It's not a permanent rating... it's not a ban... if they change their ways they can get back to better standings.

In the end... it's up to them how they want to behave in public... it shouldn't have to be put on others to have to put up with people who can't or don't want to behave, the feature is there for a reason. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To be fair, I think op is def in the wrong but there are alot of people atm who are block happy, its pretty sad some can't come out of their own comfort bubble, thats to happen with people as everyone has their own thing, but some people are way too happy with it.

As I said, I don’t speak or defend anything the op did and I did clarify that I don’t have a judgement for whether or not he deserves his nuisance rank. The point that I am saying is what skippy pointed out that people are a bit block happy.

As for the “are you sure” warning for the block button (and maybe a tool tip in the menus), I believe it would deter the lazy at the very least, or perhaps increase awareness that blocking people causes harm to a profile and can derank individuals.
That’s all, adding a slight deterrent for the block button and adding a combined mute+hide avatar would promote a more ethical usage of the block button, due to the reasons mentioned previously.

As for whether or not it’s our job to call judgement on others in vrchat is more of a personal moral stance. I personally believe that someone can be annoying, but aren’t unredeemable, and that as long as they aren’t being combative, rude, or overly annoying, that they probably don’t need to be punished, just ignored with the mute or show avatar features.

It’s mainly about fostering less toxic reactions, instead of using the block button punishment when it isn’t necessary.
