How to become a trusted user

-Add friends
-Hang out in public worlds
-Spend more than 50~ hours online

These aren't the only ones that count but from what I have asked around these would seem to be the ones that are more or less always present.

So if your someone like me who despises contact hoarding, only ever hangs out with few friends cause I don't like hoards you will never be a trusted user, fantastic!~

I know people with only 20-30 friends who are trusted.
I know people who got more than 3k hours and are still known user.
Uploading avatars/worlds also helps in that regard.

Just take your time and enjoy the ride. At the end of the day you get nothing out of being a trusted user besides a purple name.

I made a mistake, I got my trusted user mail months ago I just never saw the mail they send you with the update cause it got sent to my junk folder; yikes

You do, can’t get it without and the play time you have on a steam account does not pass over to the VR account

Incorrect. You can reach Trusted on a Steam/Oculus account.
You won't be able to upload anything without a full VRChat account, though.

im extremely inactive, got it after playing for that vrchat plus bonus and instead of just taking it off and making me a known user, they kept me as a trusted user afterwords.

I also become even MORE inactive after becoming a trusted user. I never cared about leaving known user but ♥♥♥♥ does being a trusted user make people not want to approach you.

I got Trusted at like 700 hours I have a friend who has over 1k and still is known, it really just depends on how many people add you, what rank those people that add you are, hours, and just uploading stuff.

I do remember when it first came out, I was known, then ending up getting trusted after uploading an avatar. Then ended up quitting and deleting majority of my friends, which ended up dropping me back down to known until I added a few people back.

Steam accounts can rank up to trusted, however they take wayy longer than a regular vrchat account to do so.

that's interesting to know. Being a trusted user feels cursed anyway. Being a known user is really the best thing u could ask for.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of Trusted or Known. The newer users are more fun to talk to imo. While Visitor is very hit or miss, New User has been the best rank overall to meet new people who haven't been groomed by the trusted users. I've literally talked to a dozen people who were often invited into private groups in private worlds from trusted users and they often joined me and some other friends, who are always in public worlds. It's super weird how the game is now.

You need to upload avatars and worlds as well, without that, you'd likely never achieve trusted anyway. Hell, I've only logged 52.4 hours in the game and I am already Known. But that's because I've hung out in public worlds, chatting with others while having uploaded 11 avatars
