Is it just me or is vrchat suddenly boring?
[h]Is it just me or is vrchat suddenly boring?[/h]

I've explored many worlds and have met many people but after a few months of getting on and talking I've noticed that I now rarely get on and it's not because of the community

When I try joining ANYBODY they're always busy playing Popular games ( Among us and murder mystery ) or just looking in a mirror and it kinda becomes boring and tedious when I try to come up with a game to play with them in

ngl having to login everyday to make them not worry about me is also a hassle and pushes me away even more

What has made vrchat boring to you?

Eh, I personally feel like there aren't as many good worlds to hang out in as there used to be. With VR Chat not being as popular as it was when streamers were playing it, I feel there are also a lot less people playing and the ones that do play are, like you said, usually playing one of those games and not just hanging out in cool worlds. Most people I see in random worlds are just standing in a mirror or standing in a circle with an established group of friends. Doesn't seem to be as easy to just walk up and hang out as it used to be.

The good worlds that did exist have either been changed for the worse or are empty. Look what happened to Japan Shrine. Used to be vibrant and fun and now it's dark and depressing and no one really hangs out there like they used to. Seems MOST of the popular worlds atm have the same dark, dismal atmosphere. It's killing the vibes.

I find that I have the problem of over-playing VRChat to the point where I burn out and stop playing for a couple of months. It helps to take a break and come back.

If you enjoy playing VRC and are just bored with it at the moment, teach yourself content creation if you haven't already. Making avatars and worlds is a huge part of the reason that I am still playing this game regularly since 2017.

I have been playing this game for 2 years now, still love it, and find plenty to do by myself, and with friends.

Sometimes I come back just to mess around, it's the people who play that made it interesting. When I first played, everyone was ♥♥♥♥ talking each other like ol' COD4 lobbies and I personally loved it, made some great friends from there. Slowly, though, the game is somewhat becoming less of that and more 'friendlier' if you will.

Don't get me wrong, the new influx of players made the whole atmosphere of the game less toxic to an extent but in some way became more sensitive. Most people in the game are usually quite secluded and don't really want to talk to anyone else, they'd either be alone & just stare at a mirror for hours.

When you're with your mates or meeting new people & just teasin eachother, there's gonna be someone else in a far corner somehow taking offense to what you or your lad is saying & try to confront you with it. At first it was fun to see them offended, but when it happens on repeat over & over again it begins to get somewhat annoying. I thought a minority of players were snowflakes but I was wrong - the number grows.

I guess it was the community changing that made me lose interest. I was around the whole Ugandan Knuckles era and in all honesty that was the ♥♥♥♥. Now, it's mainly just a bunch of people drinking and preaching about their life problems to strangers passing by. Some may find this as a happy change and be perfectly fine with it, I'm just not a fan of the whole tumblr like approach that's happening right now, but that's just my perspective.

This game did help me through some rough times though, I'll give it that. It made me not take every single insult to heart and learn to laugh at it. It made me more confident socially irl and motivated me to take more interest in my hobbies. I used this game as a crutch for my problems but then realized that it's one that'll I'll be too dependent on, so I forced myself to not heavily rely on it & in the end just play it for entertainment now.

Writing this at 3AM.
LONGSTORYSHORT - The community changing, becoming more subtle.

I feel the same, maybe it's because I'm just coming back to it after a few months of inactivity, but it's got the same vibes now as a school cafeteria at a school you've just transferred to mid-year. Everyone is a group, and those who aren't, are usually alone because they want to be so, or because they'll harass you if you even give them a little bit of attention. The worlds just feel so lifeless now, and the performance issues in game make it taxing to even load into one.

I met a lot of good friends on this game, but I feel like the whole atmosphere has changed now.

The new subscription service doesn't help how I view the game either. They aren't putting the money where it matters and it shows. Maybe I'll take another hiatus and hope they've done something innovative by the time I've returned.

I just started playing a few days ago but from what I see, the game is only as fun as you make it. Sure, there are ways they could improve.. a ton of ways. UI being one of them (dear god the UI is one of the most awful I've ever seen in a game). But overall, it's up to players to create the worlds and minigames and such.

I think VR Chat has a very solid foundation and a general idea of the direction they want to head with it, but they don't do a good job involving the community in that effort. And the whole subscription model just seems stupid right now too. $10/mo for basically nothing? Oof. Hopefully they can work something better out.

ive only been playing for a couple of days, but the whole quest compatibility issues with avatars is really annoying. the ui is also really dated and extremely buggy for me, with constant issues and always having to clear steams cache to even play at times.
vrc+ for us$10 a month is also a lot for how little you get.

the games as fun as you make it, but there is some serious room for improvement on the developers side. overall still pretty fun for me :lunar2019piginablanket:

I don't play it often nowadays except when a few friends want to play but coming from someone without a vr headset I kinda wish there was at least pc hand puppeteering for simple hand and arm gestures (to rotate items better etc) but that's asking for too much (vr is too expensive for me atm might get it in the far future) so I guess I feel sort of left out when I'm unable to do certain simple things, other than that I've mostly played other social games more lately like Tower Unite (non vr game) and Rec Room (has screen mode) but eh

Also the UI for VRChat is annoying and I feel mixed about some features and other stuff lately that's been going on and like a couple folks mentioned the atmosphere changed a lot and a lot of the well known worlds I used to love to hang out in are pretty much dead, bars and house like worlds are mostly populated way more than usual nowadays

I've known this game for years and it was nice to see it grow but now it feels I guess indifferent vibes on my end? I still check it out as of lately when friends are on but everything just feels super different now on my end hard to explain it's just an unsure vibe I guess?

Speaking of old worlds, does anyone know what happened to the world where you draw stuff? I can't remember, it was a long time ago.
