VRChat
Mouth always open.
So I managed to upload an avatar, but his mouth is always open. How do I fix that?

You need to adjust the angle of your yaw in unity. Even if the model in unity has the mouth closed it could happen in VRChat its wide open. Had the same issue to. Just change the angle of your jaw so it "goes inside" your head. There is no exact value so you have to try. Guess how wide the mout is opened in VRChat and move it this amount in unity.

Good tip, Hoshi82, you can also see this yourself in Unity by selecting your main object with the "Animator Component" in the inspector. Change the Controller to SD_UnityChan_Motion_Humanoid and press play. The mouth will go to whatever position it will look like in game so you can see how much of an angle you need to move it without doing a bunch of guess work.

This is part of cubed's unity shaders package, I believe, and will only work if you've imported that.

Just remember to set the controller back to None before you upload it again.

Could we get some screenshot imagery for this? So I selected my avatar's Head Jaw in Hierarchy and Add Component -> Animator. Controller-> SD_unitychan_motion_human. Avatar (ChloeAvatar) Update Mode Normal. Culling Mode Always Animate. Anyway, I pressed play and it only zoomed the camera far behind my avatar. I can't see what's going on x_x
The tutorial for jaw rotation on http://vrchat.wikia.com/wiki/Avatar's_mouth_is_open_in_VRChat is outdated. I'm lost. With or without the jaw bone, my character's mouth is always open.

100% working fix! Friend showed me.
Ensure in Shapekeys(Blendshapes) it looks like the following:
vrc.blink_left
vrc.blink_right
vrc.lowerlid_left
vrc.lowerlid_right

You can move the shapekeys(circled in blue) into the correct order with the arrows(circled in red).

If they aren't in the correct order, VRChat will make your mouth open randomly because it's using the wrong shapekeys.
