How do you get full body tracking with the Valve Index?
Just wondering because I may buy full body tracking for it if there even is any.

You gotta get hold of vive trackers+straps.

They will work with the Valve Index?

The second revision trackers work with both Vive and Index setups.

I guess I'm pretty dense for not realizing, thinking Index included full-body tracking. Then again, I've only changed my view on VR this february and took actual interest, after stumbling into one VRChat stream.

Yeah same here I'm actually getting into VR more now due the current world situation VR (at least for me) will help me interact with people again and play amazing games so I can't wait when I get my Valve Index. Sadly I have to wait 8 weeks though until it will be shipped. :/

Before I watched that VRChat stream, I had no idea something like this was already possible. I mean body tracking specifically. Seeing just how real avatars look like when people are dancing was eye-opener for me.
Don't know if I'm going to decide, it may already be too late and it's bitter.

I don't think its to late yes it is SUPER hard to get a VR system right now due to the Rona but I think it is worth it since we cannot interact with people as much anymore and most of us have to stay home. I recommend you get one BlurredBorders

Yeah, well, that's the plan. No matter the circumstances I really want to get into VR, eventually will. It's just that I'm worried over some things that could get in the way. If there was one thing I needed to get VR equipment for, it's VRChat. If that doesn't work out, I'll be at a loss since other VR games will serve no purpose for me.
And hey, thanks for words of encouragement. Cheers.

I have the Valve Index with full body tracking. You need to make sure you have enough USB ports for it. You will need 3 vive trackers and each will come with a USB dongle so it can connect to PC. You will also need straps for each tracker. 1 to each foot and 1 as a belt. After you set it up on your body you will need to go into steamvr settings and set each tracker properly. One to left foot, one to right foot and then waist.

I recommend you download OVR Advanced Settings within steam, it's free and is extremely useful for FBT. Watch a few tutorials on how to set up full body in VRChat.

Note: This is optional but I personally use a PCIE USB 3.0 card for all my VR devices. I plugged my 3 vive tracker dongles and index headset into it. I had no extra USB ports available and this was a good solution to my problem.

Doesn't really matter, as long as it's supported by windows 10 without additional drivers, it should be fine. Something with a Renesas chipset should work. You can take a look at Delock or exsys cards for example, they usually use those chipsets (they are a bit more expensive, as they produce controller cards for more niche and industrial stuff).
