get 3 HTC vive trackers. attach one to your waist and one to each leg (2 total). Then you can win dance-offs in VRchat.

It adds bit more immersion and removes the awkward movement. But barely any game supports it. So for now it’ll be mainly for VRC.

I mean, we already own two Oculus Rifts and I'm saving up for a Valve Index and bodysuit rig like Projekt Melody lol.

I could be your waifu!

Is there an equivalent of this for the Rift? I know that ZONEsama uses a Vive with trackers on the wrist and feet for full-body dancing but... (I don't know how to pull this off myself as ZONE-lite)

Becareful of price gouging, i was looking for these and Amazon had them @ $150 per, and i didn't know that wasnt the real price. (MSRP i believe is $99 each, so $300 for "full body")

make sure you READ the description because some sellers are selling 'just the strap' but bumping up the price making you think you're buying the entire thing (even including pictures of the sensors) as if to suggest its the whole package.

Full Body Tracking is awesome if you use it. If you just lay down all day while you play VRChat don't bother to buy it. It is correct not many games support full body, the only games I own are VRChat and Blade and Sorcery (It's fun to kick people's heads) it gives you such a better experience. Any game without full body feels not complete.

So if VRChat is enough for you to get full body (is for me I just love dancing lmao) get it.

Edit: As other mentioned buy them from HTC anything else is just a reseller.

Just remember you will need quite a bit of USB bandwith for all these trackers & headset.

When it comes to full body tracking there's not a whole lot of support in it. Reasons being just the coding and scaling to a person.

BUT when it comes to where to buy... The obvious I would hope is going to be HTC VIVE's website. You can get 3 trackers for about 300.00 USD. After shipping and taxes it raises up a bit, the biggest thing is how to strap them to yourself. Some people take more "dynamic" approaches to this using anything from wire to shoe string. It's honestly best to just get the straps they offer on their website.

Accessories for the trackers though... Now that's where you really want to go. Especially if you want to STAY in full body tracking. Rebuff Reality has a website where they sell the straps, along with power banks and power banks in the straps. Those roll for about 70.00 USD for just the straps, additional 70.00 USD (140.00 USD) for the power banks. The power banks though make it so you're not strung up like a cyborg and can stay in full body tracking for an entire day. It's honestly the best purchase I made. It makes it so much better.

My thoughts though on full body tracking are however pretty meager. Sure I went the distance got the straps, got the power banks, about to get a vive pro eye and wireless kit, knuckles controllers too all to be truly free. Doesn't stop the fact that full body tracking really isn't that great.. AT LEAST on VR Chat. On Neos however, where you can really put yourself into that.. Yes it's amazing. Neos VR lets you have a lot more tracking points so you can really feel yourself in VR. You can have trackers on your elbows, knees, chest, waist, shoulders, and ankles/feet and that difference is staggering. When you don't need to calibrate yourself into a completely correct position but just are and move exactly as you do in reality. The difference is eye opening to say the least.

Full body tracking is nice, but.. it's still "new" to the gaming world on our end versus developers. It's cool to use your feet in something like blade and sorcery and kick people back. But sucks when you certain things not work properly or fail to. Bending over, hip movement, a tracker that doesn't sit upright and hangs making a certain part of your body look warped or misaligned, etc. It's more or less a novelty thing. Sure it's cool, is worth dropping about 600.00 USD though? Not really. It doesn't give you more aspect or ability really and lets you feel a bit more..free? in terms of how you move and such. Which can be amazing, but that moment is fleeting.

Towards setup, they're pretty easy, plug and play. In my case they were super easy to setup, but getting the software which you'll need was a bit more complicated.

Hardware you need:
A means to strap the trackers to your body/clothes.
Lighthouses/base stations. 2 minimum.
3x 3.0 USB Ports OR 1 USB port and a 3.0 USB Hub.

Software you need:
OpenVR
Advanced Settings VR
-Safe Mode fix if this becomes a problem. Was for me.

I highly recommend Amazon or HTC's site exclusively for buying trackers. Both have decent refund policies and returns if you have any issues - and in full body, you might be bashing these things into walls often.

HTC was supposed to stop making these (They discontinued everything else - tennis rackets, light guns, etc.) But people keep buying the trackers out the same day they go on sale. So, best get them while they're hot.

This is a very expensive chatroom.
