Breaking the NSFW rule
It seems like at least once a day I see someone break that rule, and people just... don't care I guess? is it just a "whatever" situation then?

I thought it was a bit socially irresponsible to use that sort of things. Y'know since kids or pretty much anyone that can be negatively affected by it can stumble upon such things.

I've seen this happen on other sites before, and they sort of just give up on the whole idea of regulating it. I don't know... people exhaust me.

Well? Does it matter anymore? If so, how much does it matter?

If you guys are going to behave like this. Then I'd say it's about time we start being honest about it, and start thinking about what happens.

What are the implications of these certain types of people that throw caution out of the window and toss on whatever NSFW avatar they like in a public lobby?

I'd imagine that there are still consequences to be had even in this day and age. That's what I grew up thinking.

But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe we've all come to accept that overt displays of sexuality is just normal or something. Try going naked outside in real life, just casually walk by random strangers. and maybe we can test that theory.

Though it's more likely that the whole Anime thing has fostered an inadvertent community, where such content is kind of just normal. So normal in fact that they feel that they can test the waters in public.

It's not enough to just simply keep it private is it? So what's going on with you?

it is still bannable. but not enough people are willing to report it because the process is a bit lengthy. even if kept in private, it is still bannable if images or video are shared that those types of avatars were used in private, because it's still breaking their TOS

This is the same challenge as trying to keep Porn away from teenagers, kids are horny little :shit: 's, and tend to be the main protagonists when it comes to using NSFW avatars in public. Only way around this is that avatars go through the same approval process as Worlds. Which requires manpower, which requires funding, and this ad free, free to play game, currently cannot sustain that. Maybe when it nears leaving early access, such controls will be implemented.

If you see anyone using an NSFW avatar, please report them using the in-app player reporting system, or take a screenshot/video and send it in to moderation@vrchat.com! NSFW content is against TOS, and is bannable.

it does say to not use such avatars in public to friends plus worlds but i will admit if your in an invite plus many people see such as fair game because no one other then afew friends which are cool with said stuff can have their fun however the running and streaking in public worlds thing i feel is a nono like many other people (you usually dont see anyone higher then actual user doing it its usually the peeps too new to care about such stuff) also the private thing i just find funny because most people arnt stupid enough to record in private worlds (except those rando streamers that walk in on lewds)

Public is bannable, but it takes people actually reporting which most won't do either because they simply don't care or they're lazy. Private seems to be fine. I think it's still technically against the rules but even their new loading screens specify that it "may" be bannable but only if in public and/or if streamed or shared in private. First off it says "may", not "will" which I find funny. Secondly it allows it in private. As an adult I don't really have an issue with it. If anime girls are a problem this probably isn't the game for you. My 6 year old cousins were shown adult photos on the school bus by other kids their age so I have to imagine anyone on the internet has already seen it all at this point.

Take the internet away from minors

problem solved and the internet can stay weird

this sort of clamp down on freedom of expression will curb lulz content and be boring.
i liked it when vrchat was obnoxious and insane. it was funny, bizzare and interesting!

surely they can restrict minors and people with credit cards to different areas right?

don't act like you didnt like it

Mm, but in all seriousness, just report them if you see them. It's a bit of a lengthy process though.

@Squid If NSFW content is not allowed, why are you allowed to mark content as NFSW at all?
Guh~hey~hey~♫ Jan 6, 2020 @ 5:54pm
Because It's not allowed in public worlds. But now setting rules and not enforcing them....

The NSFW tag is a relic of a feature, and is not currently used in any client side systems. If you want to push for that functionality, I would recomend writing a feature request on the VRChat Canny.

What counts as NSFW? Are featureless breasts allowed?

literally no genitals and female nipples (people get around it alot with really revealing clothes and or ken/barbie style) pretty much if your grandpa walks in on you playing it and gets dissapointed thats how you can tell

also, if im correct, you can technically do it in public worlds (but it has to be a secluded locked area, like a private room that no one can see into or access, like on void club)
