Remove red floating microphone button?

Is there any way to remove the floating red mic icon/button the floats on the bottom-left of the screen? This is very distracting, especially in desktop mode.

To completely turn it off, turn off the hud in the menu

The hud option is on the "UI Elements" button on the bottom left thumb menu, the same place you turn off nametags. A lot of people have trouble finding it since they moved it there.

But also keep in mind that turning off your hud will also turn off any friend request notifications, friend invite request notifications, or other system messages you might receive.
