There needs to be a text feature.

problem is vr users wouldnt deal with it, and it would block the hud, so if they do they would need a way to disable it aswell, plus you already know they would try to censor words like r6 siege does (overly sensitive, just saying the word "chinese" gets you perm ban)

Actully in Sansar for example text and voice work fine together, as VR user the text chat floats to your left (you can open and close it anytime) and dosent get in your way even when opend and you can interact with people just fine be either talking with them or typing in a response into the text chat with a virtual keyboard.

Would not be hard to implent and be a nice and optional thing to have, you know there are people out there with hearing impairments or who just have a super hard time to talk in voice for various reasons.

voice chat but you can take pen or avatar with this black drawing magic and draw a message XD

It's a shame that this may never be a feature.

Currently it's really inconvenient when you're trying to organize something with friends, you have no options other than to use 3rd party applications to communicate outside of game - which some people won't check when they're in VR. Your only other option is to go to every world that your friends are in and communicate with them 1 by 1 which is bothersome with how buggy the game is.

Even considering voice chat, it can be really difficult to hear what people say at times, especially if the world you're in has audio playing or when multiple people are talking at the same time and some people are just quiet. There's no option to adjust volume levels for specific people.

I see no reason for why a messaging feature can't be implemented, it could be made optional for those who do not want it. The chat messages wouldn't have to be made visible in the world, they could just be viewed while in the menu.

it would be cool if a avatar had a radio or somethin, let you talk with your friends from long range or from across worlds

It would be cool if they implement this feature. There are people with social anxiety who don't want to communicate with their voice. Makes no sense not to implement it as long as it's optional. That way you could at least have some sort of communication with the people that are quiet in the game and at some point when they feel comfortable enough with you, they'd talk with voice in private. That'd make this game friendly to everyone.

Reading text bubbles in VR is bad and pointess. You might want to check out IRC if you enjoy typing.

Rather pointless when playing in VR, annoying enough it'll just clog the screen of what you're viewing with the headset, whether it's Oculus, Vive, or Mixed Reality.

vrchat would probs go vr only before they would do that

Coming from the far far future of 2022, it appears they now have a text feature available
