VRChat ps4
Is VRChat going to be on the PlayStation? There is only one information about it but it was like 2 years ago. And the information was like "yeah, we are considering it". Did they say something more about it? Are they working on it or did they just give up?

Until the devs say otherwise, it's still being considered, but not decided upon yet.

They'll probably make an update shouting from the rooftops about it, if they get the green light from Sony and the funds needed, just like they did with Quest support.
(I think it would more likely be a PS5 thing, than PS4, though...)

it will never happen

Why not?

Stranger things have happened; like, a small indie developer making a simple voxel game about building a farm in a hostile world, that gets insanely popular and is sold wholesale to Microsoft for $2.000.000.000 when the owner of the dev company was done with it...

I doubt this will come to fruition anytime soon, VRChat is still in development and considered Early Access. The game has trouble running on some of the best computers in many circumstances.

Its a great game, but I don't think it meets the standards required to be on the Playstation store or their platform in general. At least not yet.

I don’t think it can. PlayStation didn’t allow for mods on Fallout 4 or Skyrim that had custom assets. And VRChat is all custom assets.

basically, vrchat but without hand gestures/being able to make custom models (which is half the game pretty much)

There's already plenty of available copyright free avatars and worlds for console players (the rift quest is basically already a portable VR console), not having access to "mods" wouldnt be an issue at all.

but

The game's free to play.... and it's probably a big enough issue to make it never happen.
Being published on console usually cost money, and that money needs to be earned back somehow by whoever invested it to have the game ported to console.

Could the quest version be used?
Seamus Mcgee 14 ABR 2020 a las 18:02
extremely unlikely, while im not a spec guy. i would assume that the ps4 might be more powerful than the quest (again idk) i imagine a simple port of the quest version wouldnt work due to it being android and the ps4 not. but with how nintendo has been treating Dreams, i think having vrchat on ps4 would open some very massive legal floodgates
