I have nothing against whatever fandom or hobby people have, However it is kinda borring seeing the same anime girl base used every room i go to, I can understand its mighty popular but all im seeing are recolors with maybe some fancy effects that just cause massive lag spikes. Now i had a horrible experince with a weeb in my lifetime but on a personal lvl but it doesn't mean i entirely hate every weeb. Only time i get pissed is when they make fun of other hobbys people like hyprocite much? As long as their not forcing anything onto anyone as said for anything people are into then their fine.

Yeah, I have a psychological/social theory on why anime is so popular on here. I won't go into it, but it has to do with a mixture of peer-pressure, attraction, attention-seeking and social approval. I'm sure you can work it out.

I do agree though, as much as I enjoy anime myself, I'm sick of seeing every avatar in the style. I'm making it a point to not use anime avatars from now on.

I mean being part of the theory also could be acess to their favorite anime characters being them which eveyone does on here for what they enjoy (no problem with that) but it is kinda sad seeing how its really the major eye catcher for this game. From the youtube vids posted on this game mainly focus on the anime loli or chick avatars allot more.

And i think most people using cute avatar loli are clearly tryna get that attention , 99% of them.

well they have the freedom to be what they wanna be i can't say much cause im just a dragonite walking around as my main lol. But yea i wish they would stop trying to act all attention grabbing because their avatar is a loli i sadly see that any anime avatar will get people to chat with rather than somthing else.

Allow me to disagree with you two, in just about MMORPG I played people used Japanese / manga / anime names for their avatars even if thay couldn't upload or choose they're own anime themed chars.
And I got to know quite a few of them, and they seemed comfortable with themselves, more than the average person could add (though it increases with number, granted).

So, I'd say the concentration of weebos or "weebos" in VRChat is above normal, but not by much. Japan simply won the cultural battle this time, and culture is at least as powerful as economy, military or political and diplomatic power.

tbh you can blame mmd for the most part. its existed for several years and theres a million anime models on there because its an anime program. mmd models are really easy to port into unity using blender.

Personally i don't like anime myself and i have various good reasons in my opinion on why i dislike it but i'm not gonna go into all of that, I do agree it is somewhat tiring of going into a world and seeing 1 or 2 non anime models while everyone else is some anime male or female, I find the worst kind of them to be the anime meme combinations that are just there to annoy and/or crash people, But with the staggering amount of it in the game i don't think it will ever go away.
