Is there a way to protect your custom avatar?
Ive already tried making my avatars private but just earlier today it got hacked by some random dude in the hub.

Any tips would be helpful thanks.

Its kinda a bummer specially since i was thinking of spending money for lots of assets on my future custom avatars. and now im hesitating because i love using an avatar that no one else is supposed to have while talking with my friends. im am very interested in making my own models soon by making them from scratch in blender *still learning atm*.

They can't steal your avatar permanently, they can only "borrow" your blueprint ID.

If someone has stolen your avatar, you can simply go back to your avatar in Unity, detach your blueprint ID, and reupload. This creates a new instance of your avatar in your avatar list. You can then delete the old instance of the avatar, and the hacker will no longer be able to use it.

The "private" function is just there to stop other people from putting your avatar on pedestals.

Never spawn in the hub, its one of the worst places to load in to. Performance wise and the fact that pretty much every hacker loads into them.

Get a world ID of a map that isnt too crazy popular *or make a simple unlisted map* and boom. You'll load in super fast and wont have to deal with BS like that

Wow!! Actually "steal" an avatar!? As in "cut" and not "copy"? Why would someone do that!? I haven't dived into creation yet but is it really frowned apon to copy someone's base avatar and add to it? I would (and will) make a backup copy of anything I create just before uploading for the public. VRchat is ultra glitchy (wich is part of It's charm) so I wouldnt trust the servers with a prototype of anything.

the problem is the hack itself they can even crash people. i was complaining about the hack itself. as ive seen numbers of them already. they crash you just by them telling you to look into their avatar. i even encountered one that when he told me to look into his avatar.

my RAM usage went up from 50% to almost 100% in a split second then making my game crash.

i guess its a charm for you?

I didn't know the hack does that. LOL My "Kill Joy DOD" name is quite ironic for me. It's more or less how I handle competion, so not much of a charm.
