What's Up With All the Anime Avatars?

Why are most the people in VR using anime avatars that are girl characters always men? I've never understood this, I only encountered two or three women in female anime avatars. Why is it always men in them? Is this a fetish y'all have? If you want me to address you as a man, you're supposed to look like a man.

Sorry, but I see Darling in the FranXX as entertaining because thankfully I still haven't had it spoiled by the community as you may have that I still enjoy where it's going without getting all controversial about things trying to feel offended at every turn about every single thing out there. It's still a mecha anime and less of a harem anime where it's also trying to be philosophical. People are put off by philosophical side of anime that they want something more "dumbed down" that I've seen many people hate perfectly good shows because it made them think too much.

Each to their own on that part that if you didn't enjoy Darling in the FranXX then it just wasn't meant for you then. It's meant for me, and people who aren't whining about how much Darling in the FranXX sucks......

After a month later, people were saying all those death threats were fake and a hoax, or it never happened, as well as it being a joke. It makes me so angry that they're lying. Do these fans think they own the company? Listen, I like psychological stuff and a bit of slice of life, just a tiny bit, but we've been sitting here for 4 to 6 episodes straight with no action and I'm bored. It reminds me of that crappy Star Wars novel called Aftermath, with a ridiculous amount of commas and parentheses, as well as bad writing. A quote from the book: "The TIE wibbles and wobbles through the air, careening drunkenly across the Myrran rooftops - it zigzags herkily-jerkily out of sight." And the reason I don't like so much Slice of Life stuff is too normal for me. One part in this book wasted an entire 2 to 3 or 4 page chapter of Luke Skywalker going to buy fast food, buys fast food, find a seat, share a seat with a couple, have a conversation with the couple while chowing down, as well as using the force to move a noodle into his mouth. Though unlike the Star Wars fanbase when we dislike/hate something, we don't send death threats to the creators of the show like the Darling in the Franxx fandom did. All we just did was disagree with stuff and leave it at that, not act like a mental patient escaping a padded room from an asylum. And I was told to watch Harem anime to get myself into more anime since I only like Dragon Ball, My Hero Academia, and Jojo. Hated Highschool DxD, Trinity Seven, Shinmai Maou Testament, Infinite Stratos, In A World With my Smart Phone, etc. I now see why people say there's a ton of bad anime. The only harem anime I liked though was Konosuba, but to me, it's less like a harem anime and more like the MC trying to survive in a party filled with idiots who happen to be female.

Well, I took a quick Google that all I'm now finding are a bunch of "hoaxes" (as you mentioned) for the whole Ichigo death threat thing, yet the hatred is genuine. Well, either way that whole mess itself I still hate about the community that I'm not going to cross it off because it just ruins the whole flow of the anime that could have otherwise been enjoyed.

Yeah, see.... That's what I mean that people want things to be "Dumbed down" that the dialogue mentioned (important ones at that) goes ignored. The whole bit of taking things for granted that the two get their memories erased because of relearning what we now take for granted + the whole background information drop in how the Doctor came about, how society is the way it is, plus how 02 came about. Those are important. Hate it all you want, it's important.

I quite enjoyed Trinity Seven because it's one of those "dumbed down" anime people seem to desire, yet fake hating. It has awesome music that I went out of my way to get the OST in physical copy. The main character is an actual male main character with common with sense with some awesome partners (the Grimoire) with many funny punchlines to be had. On that note maybe I should look for an Arata MMD model so I can have a male character on hand by also commissioning someone to add some amusing bits to it (animations & items)..... Infinite Stratos is also a good anime that people blindly hate......

For anime in general try 'Jormungand' or something less harem if you're going to be this salty about anime. Maybe you'd need Katanagatari, Psycho Pass, Re:Zero, No Game; No Life (Movie) or those anime that people don't recommend straight away. You need to find the middle ground of what people suggest by watching their second favourite on their list from the sounds of things. If it's the first thing they suggest then ignore it while watching whatever they recommend after that.

Also, for what we're posting Nagzz21 is correct about the whole thing that "it's only RP" that we should be more chill.

You saw how bad the locust thing was with Knuckles meme...... Anime community is toxic that I'm also agitated by people hating on 'Darling In The FranXX' for every stupid reason imaginable that you can't enjoy what you want to enjoy. It's a weird line that someone is going to misunderstand me here that people should also take a peak into the lesser known & less common things in anime, and whatever else is out there.

I hate Darling in the FranXX for how cancerous your fandom is. It's on the level of Steven Universe Toxicity. Not to mention, I just can't get into the show. It's just so boring to me, reminds me of every harem anime out there, boring. (Sorry, really ain't all that into romance).

How is Steven Universe toxic? Not a fan just that I don't watch the show or see fanart, is it bad?

Alright, the three posts are weird from 'BigUglyBoi', 'GKR', as well as 'Mister Bones'..... There's just no logic or common sense to what you guys posted......

I also agree with the above poster (フラグメンツ) that if you're salty over anything anime then that's on you. The only time anime characters tend to ruin VRchat is when people behave stupidly with them or make them go fully nude to stream snipe people on Twitch with how overly protective Twitch is over there.

Fault lays with people being immature than it is with "anime characters".

The fact that I have to even explain why anime avatars are a problem and your reactions just proves my point, you can easily figure out the problem your self or not and just continue being ignorant of the problems. I'll just leave some hints if you still don't get the problem . Many laggy avatars run around are anime, Grown men acting like Women and such, over-use of similar avatars (no creativity), and nudity being common (4 servers in a row I joined had people with nude avatars).

That's the people, not the avatars.

People respect certain characters in any form of media that they want to be that character with VRchat allowing them to be such (view my previous posting about Tribal mentality as well), yet there's an innocent side to it as well. There's the whole thing about needing role models in life with the character they chose being that.......

I've seen people using Big Bird & Trump avatars being idiots so you can't blindly hate anime side of things. I had to block a Big Bird because he wanted to see anime girl's breasts bounce to then shout me down for not being his b**** that I should represent my gender........ A stupid thing to say that he got blocked.....One for being sexist and another for shouting me down telling me what to do.

...... Many laggy avatars run around are anime, Grown men acting like Women and such, over-use of similar avatars (no creativity), and nudity being common (4 servers in a row I joined had people with nude avatars).

Unoptimized MMD models, or something from public worlds. Not everybody is an expert at making models that they either shoe-horned that model into the game, found it in a public world, or had it hastily added into VRchat. I'l be honest that adding avatars in the game is easy, yet not that easy. It's easier adding a world map into the game than it is an avatar with how you have to decimate the avatar to the appropriate tri-count, and such. Avatars end up looking horrible as a result, and etc.... If people knew how to smooth out their avatars then they would.

As for the "grown men acting like women" is an "each to their own" bit, yet it also comes down to respecting female characters. And as mentioned countless times (even in my previous posting) that there's too many whiny male anime characters that you can't really chose them, and if there are they're too generic that you'd want something more "unique". Puppers, Adame, & Nagzz21 managed to get around that which is neat, yet not really that possible when you can't model among other things.

For me (as a guy) the next best thing is being a woman in a game while also highly respecting Scathach (woman/FGO) because of how serious she appears in the anime realm. If you find that an issue then you yourself are broken....... I don't see Whitewolf, or any other Youtuber in a lesser light because they chose to be female avatars.

But yeah...... There are those that genuinely like anime characters, and then there are those ruining it for the others tainting something that should be good to be something "evil" when it really isn't. Just the immaturity of the community, not the anime side of things. Like the Big Bird I had to block asking me to shake the breasts on the avatar I'm using then chewing me out when I didn't sl** myself in avatar form.

Well, I did bring it up in a posting before (or I assume I did, unless I deleted it for a different wording) yet haven't had the nude stream sniping happen to me (yet). I haven't seen any nude models (yet). It's bound to happen and Twitch is a piece of crap for being overly sensitive platform that they allow Conan Exiles nudity, yet ban Yandere Simulator on it which is a backwards mentality thing. Just hoping the developers at VRchat are smarter than the Twitch bias side of things. They seem to be when they allow KanColle swimsuit Yamato to roam free, among others.

I was in a world with suggestive hug pillows streaming it with Twitch doing nothing about it. I was there for a long while + even had the stream saved until auto-deletion that they've done nothing. Even a presentation room where some guy turned into a room avatar with lewd images on it posters on the walls and the computer, yet nothing happened. I looked away because I was streaming, yet nothing happened. I also hung out with a few "lewd" avatars that it seems fine. Swimsuits are fine that you see them in the real world while nudity on the other hand, yeah..... I can see that getting you. (Twitch is however brainless & over-protective)

I was told that Twitch looks at clips more seriously with everything else simply being "chance".
