Harassment issues in VRchat? Relatable at all?
I've been having a lot of people harass me for being a "female Vrchatter?" and no..I'm not overexagerating. And the uganda knuckles don't bother me whatsoever about being made "kween" every time I run into one. It's legit me being asked every time if I wanna be someone's girlfriend or why I won't love them back. Again, zero exageration. They're all so rude about it. I just want to have fun without being harassed in game and escape constant harassment like I try in the real world (yes, the real world xD). And harassment for being an english speaker? I mean come on. Just because I'm not Russian doesn't mean you have to kick me from a server. Anyone else have these problems? Let's talk about this for a minute...

It's more of an internet problem than a VRChat problem. Happens to me too.

I hear what you are feeling, and I feel what you are saying. Kicking some one from a lobby in a game where speaking the same language is the primary form of communication. Is inhuman & no different from walking from person to person at a party looking for some one who speaks your language DISGUSTING!.

How dare they act like horny teenagers, who do these horny teenagers think they are, HORNY TEENAGERS!

I feel hearings sayings i am supports i am's feelings supports.

much love keep up the fighting sister

You could just play along with it. Everyone gets "harassed" in one way or another every time they play on public maps.

I’m no female, but my advice is to completely ignore all forms of harassment. VRChat is just full of preteens who want nothing more than to do the De Wey meme and harass women. Harassment in video games should never be a problem as you can just leave the game. Now if they harass you via messages, then just block him.

I had one bad experience: a guy came up to me and started asking me for sex, I muted and blocked him. Just do that with guys. I think most people are more inclined to suspect girl VRs of being guys IRL; I've had a lot of guys come up to me and call me a trap...whatever, just ignore the bad guys!

Not a female, myself, but I can see where you are coming from. People can be crazy in VRChat. I get propositioned by people just coming up and getting in my personal space, and no, I don't have a female avatar (as I don't want dudes propisitioning me), but that doesn't seem to stop them. I think it depends on the people in the room. There are rooms I walk into and pretty quickly figure out it's not my scene, while other rooms are more fun/comfortable to hang out in with more "normal" conversation. It all just depends who you run into. Like one instance of the PUG can be a bunch of cool people talking, while another can be a full on orgy. So, unfortunately, it's an internet troll problem. It is probably made worse by the fact that there are guys who use voice mods to sound like women roleplaying in ways that might encourage these harassers, who might be assuming you are a guy. Apart from muting, blocking, not sure if anything can be done other than having a canned response line ready that puts them in their place. Come up with a good one, and you'll win the room and the interaction, as the creep sulks away, having been shamed to the cheers and amazement of the crowd. Otherwise, find a good group to socalize with and hope they set the tone / provide some barrier to the harassers. So, build that friends list with people who aren't creeps. Maybe ask some friendly people to hang out and be your bodyguards. That might be a good way to make friends and create that space. Just make sure they don't take it the wrong way...

Anyhow good luck! have fun!

I feel you. I've had my fair share of insults, ha ha. And I can't even explain myself because my mic doesn't work. (And I have tried every tip I could find)

It's to be expected, really. Men who play games tend to be lonely and desperate for female attention. You have to be aware of that as a woman before jumping into an online community, otherwise you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. My advice to all women who play online: Just go along with it. Humor them. Be aggressive and intimidating, reciprocate their creepiness. This tends to throw them off guard and change their attitude because they now know you're not an easy target. DO NOT act like a high and mighty b*tch with no sense of humor, DO NOT play the "im a grrrl gamer give me attention" card, and DO NOT play the victim.

Block and Mute would be the best advice to give in this situation. You could just let them down nicely and just say "No thanks" or something like that. Don't drop the ♥♥♥♥♥ hammer on them, it could make them come back stronger and more childish. If they had already started accusing you of being a Trap, which in some cases the whole room starts off with that, just walk away. They will eventually get bored and move on.

As for kicking because you don't speak their language, that cant really be avoided either way. When I hear the room talking in something that isn't English I automatically leave. They will often jump on English speakers for no reason. Its some kind of unseen war between nations. Well, i guess not so unseen because Xbox Live is nothing but a turf war between Americans and foreigners. I don't get it.

Many people are coming into VRChat imitating their favorite Youtuber, Twitch Streamer, ETC...

So when people are asking you to be their girlfriend, I imagine most are joking/role playing, because they saw it on Twitch/Youtube.

Example above.

Harassment? On the internet!? It's unheard of!
Dizzy 2018 年 1 月 24 日 下午 10:58
Just block people and move on. I run into ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ all the time, it doesn't bother me, I just throw em on the blacklist
