Can someone please explain what's happening on vrchat? People are saying not to go online because of hackers and other things, and I'm confused

These so called hackers just downloaded a off client that modfi to take your name just to inpersonate you and take your avater but they don't have acesss to your account so i wouldnt be to worried about it

Its obviously because the games got so much attention lately i mean all you have to do is look at what hackers have done to GT5 /TF2/ and you get an idea of whats going to happen to Vrchat (a small Dev Group in comparison to the Massive Big Names in gaming)


This could spell then end of Vrchat---Imagine Hackers In every Lobby

Don't worry about it, just switch instance if they show up and use the report abuse button if they persist.

over the past week VRchat has turned into a hacker-fest. Almost every day im either:

1. blinded by custom avatars that have ridiculus light effects
2. lots of random junk spanwed into an instance lagging the instance for everyone
3. pictures appearing in your vision so you can't see anything or crazy lighting effects
4. being randomly teleported
5. people stealing other users avatars
6. racist Knuckles avatar everywhere (ok, this isn't hacking but still a very large issue)

Not to mention all of the videos on YouTube showing you how and where the alter system files and where to download hacked ones.

Yes hacking effects almost all online games but VRchat has a way to go before its at a minimum.

hackers on vrchat stealing avatars that took weeks to make

i already found 2 hackers in 3 hours of playtime copying my avatar it took me literally weeks to perfect and then some kid with some dll files comes along and just blatantly steals everything. im getting sick and tired of this. there really need to be a better way to report these hackers. i already send a video of some kid hacking to vrchat support but they didnt respond. it seems that i ll be using the widelay avaliable avatars (ingame avatars) since its not worth getting weeks of work just stolen by some uncreative kid.

yeah they f***ng stole my avatar that took weeks to make they just stole it in one click i really hate this and there is no way to report them even with video proof i thougth that people got banned easily on vrchat nut no there are no admins on any server and no way to report them seems im not making new avatars anymore since it ll get ripped/copied anyway

they still copy your avatar and mine took weeks to make im getting so ma d about this i might not even buy vr after all

they still copy your avatar and mine took weeks to make im getting so ma d about this i might not even buy vr after all
