the game isnt meant for normal desktop use it was made for vr in mind so options are barebone

If it really bothers you you could get a program that toggles shfit on and off for you when you press it.

Ik this is an old post but like holding down shift all the time slowly destroys your keyboard, I would know this because my shift key is sometimes non-responsive now.
