Question about the Lenovo Explorer.
I have been trying to decide between getting the Oculus Rift or the Lenovo Explorer. After much contemplation, I have decided on the Lenovo as it is $100 less and it is easy to set up. My question is this. Will the Lenovo Explorer work in VRChat?

I have done some research of my own and I am like 75% sure it will but I am still a little worried. If anyone has any info on this, I would really appreciate it!

the explorer will work fine. but where did you get the price? the explorer and rift are almost exactly the same price, in fact, the rift is actually slightly cheaper. did you mean the vive vs explorer price?

ok, so its on sale. without the sale, th explorer is more expensive. The benefit of the explorer is the higher resolution and clearer screen

I would go with the Rift. Its wicked and you get a buncha free games with Touch. The new software for it is a game changer to IMHO.

Also, Don't forget to that the Vive pro just got announced. So there will most likely be a Vive price drop soon for the original headsets. Vive runs this game very good. Better then all the rest. If your willing to wait. This should be a option if price is right.

Personally, I would avoid the windows Mixxed reality headsets. The ones i tried the resolution was not very noticeable of a upgrade and the software was terrible. They had cheap feeling joysticks to. Vive and Rift joysticks are built to take a beating and believe me your gonna whack em against all sorts of things. It is inevitable. The tracking was horrendous. This was the deal breaker for me. It was nowhere near the quality of Vive or Oculus tracking. And that is something that really plays a huge factor in VR gaming. You lose hand tracking every time ya turn for a split second and it really really kills all immersion. Factor in all the auxiliary accessories that Vive and Oculus have, Like headset foam inserts for people with glasses, prescription lens covers, and wireless tech out on the market and the ability to buy this stuff from a lot more retailers. They just seem like there ahead of the game compared to Mixed reality ones.

Another suggestion is to maybe look around for some stores that have Demo sets. I know Bestbuy in Canada and USA has some Rifts and Mixed reality sets available to test out before ya make the plunge. I kinda wish more stores had them to test.

Either way i wish you goodluck and hope you have fun with whatever you get. It is a tough decision when spending a ton of money.

Thanks! I think I'm going to go ahead and get the rift!
