High Polygon Avatars possibility?
I noticed there are some players using pretty smooth avatar that probably have high polygon count. the SDK won't let you publish if it's over 20k count...is there really a way to bypass this and keep the smooth high counts in order to avoid low quality avatars?

nope. 20k is the limit. some people can do alot more with them than others

As Sniper has said, the limit is 20k and 10k+ is recommended. 20k polygons is enough for a smooth avatar, provided the size is proportional.

There making the polygon limit to 70k polygons

Incorrect. Polygons don't have nearly as much of an impact on performance as particles or shaders. The limit should have been increased long ago since everyone bypasses the limit anyway, even the devs themselves do it.

The only performance hinderance from Polygons from what I can tell in this engine is when they're pretty much up around the 120k-140k range and a mirror is involved. Your framerate will slam down to the 45 FPS cap used to keep framerate consistent, so even then, it's not a really a framerate hit as in the game is just capping itself from something lowering performance.

Otherwise you'll never see a difference unless you test it extensively. Most of the time it's Cloth, dynamic bones, meshes, and material counts.

So if you see a avatar only a bit above 70k polygons with the new update coming and they're marked as Very Poor, but everything else they got is green. They aren't the performance problem of that room.
