change avatar

I've just started using vrchat and I've a quick question, when I bring up the control panel and click to change avatar it just closes, and I'm stuck with the one I chose in the tutorial, should this happen? the only way I've found so far is to go to the mansion and click on a avatar there, seesm a bit stupid to have to do it that way, I'm assuming I'm missing something.

The Mansion and the Museum are the only places you can get another avatar. Your Avatar menu should come up when you call it, so you have a bug on your end.

I did wondr about that, I can go and find new avatars and change to them with no problems, but when I bring up the menu and click change on the avatar it just closes the menu and nothing happens! oh well I might try a reinstall and see if that works!

In what part of the game folder, do you put the avatar file ?, for the new avatar appears in the game?

Make sure you hit the CHANGE button below the avatar preview in the menu. Until you do this you are only previewing the avatar and have not yet switched to it.

Hi Hack and thanks for the reply, I think I know where I'm going wrong, when I go into the system page then I click change on the avatar at the bottom right it just closes the page, I assume there is no option to change avatar at will atm which is where I'm going wrong, I thought if I clicked change it would bring up a menu or room to change! my fault sry, atm if I click change it just stays on the default I choose when I first setup vrchat

Don't mean to necro but when i view the avatar page it displays my avatar selected in the tutorial and when i hit the change button while wearing the selected avatar i would like it switches back to the default tutorial avatar that is displayed above the button.
