no, sorry, i mean on the vive controller?

The mic should be on by default and is voice activated. To mute your mic if you have some background noise going, open the menu and click the mic icon.

i see. you know, i'm using a powerful stereo-system, no headphones. i'm afraid there could occur a disturbing acoustical feedback for other players. that's why i'd love to have an option for push-to-talk.

Yeah, we hear you. The trouble is lack of buttons on the vive and we're already mapping quite a few systems. If you have an elegant solution let us know!

Anything mapped to down on the right touchpad?

Nothing yet for hard press but gestures for light press. Let me think about that. There's other potential UX issues like unintended mic toggle when gesturing (probably happen a lot) or during left and right turn movement. Good suggestion though.

You could try using right touchpad down as sort of a mode key so you could use touchdown+trigger.
That might be too cumbersome though.
Do exactly what rec room does. When you press down on one of the Joy sticks [either one] you are talking. When not, you aren't talking. Simple! :steamhappy:

Can you rebind voice toggle button?

As a person who uses the desktop version (non-vr) it would be really convenient to have the ability to map my own keybindings, and the ability to have push2talk would be very helpful for me, as my stereo easily feedbacks into my mic and I don't enjoy wearing headphones

How about the grip buttons? I'd rather have a push-to-talk option then a spread my fingers option

I'm playing to the game with an Acer WMR headset and its two controllers, and I have the same issue: I have to open the menu each time I start and stop talking and its gettin quickly boring. So I also would like a push-to-talk button on my controllers.

After some research, I've found this image on the VRChat website :
docs.vrchat.com/docs/vive
that shows a "mic" button on the left Vive controller ! The same button on the right Vive controller opens the menu.

Each of my Acer controllers have the same button that both open the menu: if I press the left button the menu will show up to the left controller and I will navigate on it with the right controller, and vice-et-versa. (Then as a right-handed I'm used to always open the menu on the left.)

SO I have this suggestion for "an elegant solution" :
As it's shown on this image of the Vive Controllers, this button on the left controllers could be used as a push-to-talk button and the same button the right controller could open the menu, and the final touch: an option in the game settings menu to reverse thoses two opposites buttons, depending on the player preferences.

It also could work on my Acer controllers, and the button is at a good place for both use !

Would be great if a company sold a wrist watch lke device that added more buttons. Wasnt a controller but was an addition to the regular controller setups. That way you could add more buttons.
