nothing actually loads when starting the game, even the text doesn't load properly.

i tried:
1-verify integrity
2-uninstall and reinstall the game
3-deleting any shakes & fidget and PlayaGames files in my %appdata% folder

Same issues here. Sending a support ticket won't save you, because they just try and blame everything on you instead of addressing the issue. I can't login through steam, or web browser. Only my phone, which I never use because it's old and slow. I've been emailing them since the start of the hellavator update and they have yet to fix the issue while I miss out on progress and rewards.
1) Please change your in-game language, then switch back to the one previously selected. Does it work?

2) If not, please quit the game, right-click the game in your library -> properties -> verifiy local game files. Quit Steam, restart Steam, restart the game. Does it work?

3) If not, please uninstall the game, quit Steam, restart Steam, install the game again, start the game. Does it work?

4) If not, log in to the browser version (you can set an email address and password in the Steam version so you get a password for the browser and mobile versions). Does it work there?

5) If not, point your browser to https://cdn.playa-games.com/res/sfgame3/lang/15.500/sfgame_en.bin?date=20230509&v=15.500.230504.1 and check if you can load the file. Then start the Steam version again.

6) If you get the error "ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR " when trying to download the file above:

Solution 1: check the system date/time
Solution 2: temporarily disable antivirus and firewall programs
Solution 3: delete SSL cache and browser cache

Do you use VPN? If so, switch it off.

Uninstall the game, then go to C:\Users\XXX\AppData\LocalLow (replace xxx with your Windows user name), then delete the folder "Playa Games GmbH". Then download and install the game again..and when done, right-click it -> verify the game files.

i have my VPN switched off

i just tried that, same issue

also, if keep quitting and restarting the game over and over again, sometimes the game does work, but i get this error message on the character select screen:
https://i.imgur.com/AlLwt41.jpeg

however, exiting the game again will result in the same error, a black screen/nothing loads
Please reply to your support ticket/reopen it/send a new one and ask our support to take a closer look at the error message.

99% of all issues solves outside of the game. Stop all programs and try again.
