Shakes and Fidget

How/Where to meet people in-game?
Store page has a tag that says massively multiplayer. Where are all those players?

How can I chat with someone and see if we want to make friends? Maybe find people who know the game better and answer some questions? (Like, what's that sticker thing I read about?)

Picking someone random from some hall of fame seems just wrong. And how do I know whether they're around right then anyway?

I read the manual linked in the pinned thread here, btw, and some FAQ on the official forum. Was not very successful searching that place for stuff though.

Thanks for any help!

Hey there.
It's a bit weird and tricky to find some people you wanna play with.
Your best bet is to either make a post about you looking for a guild or answer one of the posts where guild are looking for players.
Once you're in a guild, you can talk to other players, do raids together and just have fun. :)

The thing is that I want to know the people before I join any guild (and I don't know if I want to join one either). And making a post isn't in-game.

If it's massively multiplayer, why is there no place where people hang out and chat? (Steam's group chat is empty too, or I'd hang out there at least.)

Well, sadly enough there's nothing like you want. I'm officer in a 50 members international guild hover between top 20-40 at W9. They're amazing. Just I think the guild chat is the only way to 'massive communication'.

Thanks for your reply. :)

Wonder how they imagine people can find friends to get that medal.

What does W9 mean? What's your guild called? What do members have to do?

Can I throw you a friend request in Steam for all these and possibly more questions? (Can I friend you in-game, too?)

I found in 2 other games that have guilds that I'm not comfortable not being my own boss. (I'm old - 44 - set in my ways and way too picky on what kind of people I want to hang out with, and wouldn't want to contribute earned cash to something where some random internet person can just kick me out.) I'd be happy to have a look though, anyway. :)

W9 means World 9, server 9. There are 10 worlds/servers right now. I'm an officer of the clan Starks. Members of a clan donate gold/shrooms. These are used to upgrade the clan bonusses , do clanraids and attack other guilds. A clan gives advantages to your game. Friends, experience and gold bonus, the demon portal dungeon et cetera.

Yeah feel free to add me. I've several people from my clan at Steam and a few others from other worlds, I don't mind. :P

Added (a bit belatedly, got distracted with 3 things at once needing attention), thanks!

I'm currently on World 2, I think. What's the difference between the worlds?

Nothing. Just different players and clans.
