Usually reommended:
1) log out of an account and log back in
2) restart Steam
3) right-click the game in your Steam library and verify your local game files:
"Verify Integrity of Game Files
From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files... button.
Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes."

I get this when i try to log in, if your have alot issues you should roll back until you can fix them.
If it didn't happen to you why are you commenting in this post?
Do you have other accounts? Log in to another account, log out, log in to your first acount again. If it still does not work, restart Steam.
I had your problem too...restarting Steam fixed it. We are still working on automatic account validations. The patch will be live as soon as possible.
So basically your saying you don't care and I'm out of luck. Fix this man, or set me a pw and so i can log into the web version.
If possible I'd like to use the web version of this game to avoid these issues.
