Gem sets?
I only just started playing this with the launch of the newest speed server, so I'm not very knowledgeable yet.
But one thing I've noticed now that my mine is up and running is that some of the gems of the same stat have different 'set' names.
When I looked it up, all I found was information on orange and black gems which serve no purpose to me yet.
My question is whether matching the set names matters when placing gems. I have 3 con gems that say "eyes of the flamingo", and 3 con that say "aural amethyst". When I placed them, my con stat turned purple on my character menu.
I have two of the same set for strength and my strength stat is still the normal dark blue color of the other stats, so I assume it has something to do with having a set of 3.

Colors applied on stats:

Default color -Saffron yellow
Equipment boost -Yale blue
Strength potion -Neon blue
Dexterity potion -Lemon yellow
Intelligence potion -True green
Luck potion -Candy apple red
Constitution potion -Violet purple
Eternal life potion -Royal yellow (on hit points number)

You lose everything on the end of the month, so are you sure you want to play on a speed server?

What does your comment have to do with the question I asked? And it isn't like any knowledge I gain will vanish when the speed server does...
All gems come in different sizes. Blue gems boost your strength, yellow gems boost your dexterity, green ones your intelligence, red ones your luck, purple ones your constitution, black ones boost all attributes and orange gems boost your main attribute and constitution...but are considered the best gems as the main attribute boost is so big.

I already knew those things.
Your explanation never mentioned the 'set' name attached to the gems and why my stat turned purple.
My question from above:

I have since removed the three 'flamingo' gems but my cons stat is still bright purple.

Thank you very much. I hadn't paid much attention to the strength stat being lighter, and I've had the EL potion since I started. I got another from a voucher code and two more from the magic shop so it hasn't run out.
The names do not matter. They are just flavor text (Eye of the Flamingo etc.).

Oh, I know what you mean. "[name of gem] set" just means "[name of gem] inserted/used"! "Set" is not a noun here.
