Old or new server?

Which do you recommend for somebody who wants to be in for a long haul? I made characters on US1 and International1, as well as US10 and International24, just to take a look around, and honestly have no idea where it's worth staying. There's no dates or anything so it's not like you can tell how many players are active even by looking at the heroes hall of fame. They constantly roll out new servers so is it just better to go to the older ones? But I also read that the older ones are dying, but what stops the newer ones from dying the second an even newer one comes out? Considering all progress is tied to server I really want to pick one and stick to it, not constantly hop around...

To be honest, it doesn't matter at all. Every world has active guilds. Worlds don't just "die".

I'm playing on w7 and w23, it's pretty much the same.
