Zero damage with certain characters
Some of my characters literally do 0 damage to regular mobs. Kevin, Kloe and Anelace are the ones I have problems with right now. I'm in chapter 6 and I've upgraded their weapons and orbment multiple times, though I often end up having them as dead weight in my party. This is really annoying when a character is forced to stay in the party. I have noticed this back in chapter 3-4 but it persists till now.

Anyone else has this problem?

Kevin and Kloe's magic should be doing a hell of a lot more than zero. Kloe in particular is one the heaviest ats hitters in the game. You definitely have the latest Mind orbment on?

Anelace has a star door from Chapter 4 that gets her a little something that lets her keep up with the other physical attackers.

They do some damage sometimes, though I don't know why it happens
Post some screenshots of your characters' equipment windows and stats.
Anelace, 0 Damage? did you get the Jinu?

Also, Kevin & Kloe (especially Kloe) are more ATS oriented, and hit like a Truck with Arts.

No, didn't get the Jinu, haven't done many doors. She's weak though hits well against bosses
Um...do you equip HP quartz?

yeah, why?
It'll narrow things down a bit. How about Defense quartz?

It looks like you're having trouble dealing damage and staying alive. For Kloe/Kevin at least, they'll need high ATS, HP, defence, and fast casting, if armor and weapons are current. Usually my Kevin's DEF is much higher than most other members of my party, even.

as well, though I always try to balance so that physical and magical damage aren't low
Check the description of the Defense quart\z. It doesn't decrease your damage by a few percent, it decreases your attack. If your attack gets too low, you won't do any damage.

Basically, the physical defense, and magical defense, quartz types are worthless if you want a character to deal damage of that type.
Personally...I try to avoid putting any Attack quartz on Kloe/Kevin. It lowers their DEF stat by a certain %.
I'll recheck and rebalance later then, thanks
Kevin and Kloe have poor physical damage output to begin with. The former should probably still be doing a little damage on normal difficulty, but the latter should be used purely for casting and her dealing 0 damage isn't a huge surprise. Make sure you're not using Defense and Shield quartz on someone who wants to use physical or magical attacks respectively, because the debuff that they apply is substantial and honestly not worth it on characters that have any interest in attacking in the relevant method.

Anelace should definitely not be doing 0 Damage even with Defense (although she still shouldn't be using it, but Shield is okay) because she should have access to the Jinu sword from a Star Door at this point. This sword is laughably overpowered when you get it (Chapter 4) and gives her some of the highest strength in the game; it evens out a bit as you approach the end of Chapter 6, but it can be upgraded in the final chapter to become the strongest weapon in the game overall. Do not ignore this weapon, and thus her Star Door, if you want Anelace to be useful. This also applies to Tita, and to a much much lesser extent Renne.

This isn't a game about all-rounders. Best to specialize your characters. Kevin and Kloe are excellent support that can do some Arts damage. Best to give up on physical attacks for these guys.
