EoCApp.exe - Bad Image Error Status 0xc0000020

So, I began my first play through, shut it down and when now trying to restart the game, I get this error:

D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\bin\iggy_w64.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc0000020.

and this error:

D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\bin\osiris_x64.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc0000020.

Anyone know how to fix this, as apparently re-installing doesn't work, according to some other threads I've read...?

After adding the files mentioned earlier to my "exlude"list, I just went to the properties for the game in Steam and ran a "validate files" scan. It found 2 files with issues and the game works now without uninstalling.

Hello gaming community,

I hope everyone is doing well. I ran into a similar bug. "Divinity Original Sin 2 - Bad image vcomp140.dll is either missing or not a windows program. Error code 0xc000012f. I am sure there are various other error codes.

I resolve the issue by taking the following steps.

Windows Key + X -> App and Features -> Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 -> Uninstall -> Repair

Rinse and repeat for the other years 2008/2012/2013 etc.

Reboot your PC, if not already prompted to do so, launch game.

My friend had same problem but with a file called SDL2.dll. It's not in folder though

This worked like a charm for me. I have McAfee as well. Didn't have to reinstall.

Thanks this worked , had the same error. Had macaffee on pc, added exclusions for the two files & validated files. Now game runs again !

Same problem for me but my internet is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it takes 6+ hours to install it so I can't keep doing that just to play it so hopefully it's just this stupid McAfee ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I won't have to uninstall it anymore.
