Can't place anything on god king altar
This is driving me crazy, I know the solution is the stupid responsibility painting but I can't place the damn thing on the altar, it just keeps saying its too high. I even tried with other things but they also get the too high response.

The hell am I supposed to do? drop the whole kemm quest and move on?

This is crazy late but in case anyone else has this issue: You don't need to place the painting itself just something that weighs 5kg i think, and you want it to be on the plate UNDER the altar. I managed to place the painting in front fo the altar at an angle so just the corner of it was BARELY touching, and it worked after several hours of trying to place things on top of it. This is the dumbest thing i've had to deal with in this game

If the painting doesn't fit, try moving it forward on the altar (so an edge isn't sticking into the wall behind), or use the scroll wheel to rotate it so it oriented along the alter rather than across, which should make it easier to place there.
I managed by putting the painting next to the alter but as close as possible.
