Act 4 Wedding Cake Crash?

It's kind of stopped me in my tracks I think; supposedly it's required to progress two character quests, but it crashes every time. Doing some research I learned it's a recent bug, probably originating from the newest update.
Is this a matter of just waiting for a patch to come out?

yep, I just got to this point in game and tried twice to
click on cake and it explodes then game crashes...
win 10 1909 , latest nvidia drivers....

I'm just going to skip for now... maybe they can patch it
in a few days/weeks …

Having the same issue since yesterday, I emailed larian support and they came back saying they are aware of the issue and are working on a hotfix as we speak.

I tried shooting it from afar and then waypoint out of there. That works but as soon as you go near the cake again, or near the monsters that spawn from it, it crashes again.

i couldnt be arsed waiting, there are other ways to complete the quest.

Having the same issue. I've tried it on my Switch and PC (same file) and neither worked. Just gonna hope it's fixed sooner rather than later. I've been binging this game a lot lately so it kinda hurts that I can't progress through this quest lmao

I have same рroblem here, but we skiррed this рart of quest and went other way and finished game yesterday. So you can skiр it, but you`ll miss some info about wedding

I had the side of my computer open and was fanning it with a hand fan because I thought it was overheating my GPU. It's still bugged to crash on interacting with the cake as of July 2.

my suggestion is to watch a video about this fight and the interaction with the dwarf that happened after it to know who behind this, then continue exploring the area and the quest normally without opening the cake. if you're having trouble after that look for guides about where you are supposed to be going after the weeding scene. hint Sewers

I just had the same issue happen. Is it possible to progress through the related quests without interacting with the cake?
