If you make a collection, ensure you all have the same load order and mods enabled, without other mods installed, try this
Unsub from all mods
Delete all files in documents/LarianStudios/DivinityOriginalSin2Definitive/mods
Have your friends do the same, make a collection have them use "Sub to all" so that you have the same load order in-game and you should just load in right away, we used 32 mods and it worked that way (Just can't continue a playthrough in progress, get addon load failed messages)
Also make sure they activate all the mods, prior to joining you.
Extreme work around for some reason is to cut patch_2.pak from the data folder, start game, then exit. then put it back. it worked once atleast. hope this work
1. go to "my documents\larian studios\divinity original sin 2 definitive edition\mods
2. pack this folder through 7zip or other archiver and send to your friends
3. make friends unpack this folder into same path and enable mods in game
I've tried every single method I've found and there is no fix. It is random. Some players connect without issues and others don't.
We have to wait guys.
