Insanely long loading times.
I'm about 40-50 hours in (I like to discover secrets and do side quests) in Act 2 and the loading times have become totally abysmal.

It takes around 30 to 60 minutes to load my save. (I timed it!)

When my save is finally loaded, the loading times are normal again and I can load quick saves and such in mere minutes.

These loading times happen only when you first launch the game, not when you are already playing.

I run on an extremely high-end PC and the game is on an SSD drive.

I do play with mods, perhaps that is the cause. But even if mods are disabled, the loading times remain long. Since there is some mod support, perhaps a patch can be fixed or a reason divulged?

How many saves do you have and have you tried a older save from before this started. I noticed if I had to many saves it would cause the load to increase to a minute or so but in your case it sounds like a save was corrupted and caused severe bloat and now all your new saves have this bloat as well

I've got quite a lot of saves indeed.

Is there any way to un-corrupt a save or get rid of bloat? Older saves don't seem to work, as this must have happened a long time ago.

30-60mins!?
My save list has grown too & I was complaining that it takes about 30 seconds, when before it was almost instant.

When was the last time you rebooted? After the first patch all of my loading times were several times longer until I power cycled

Rebooted plenty of times, running the latest version too.

I've browsed these forums and the internet extensively. I've validated my game files, my game is on an SSD and so forth. Trust me, it's not a problem on my part, but a problem with the save file, I reckon.

After some research I've found the cause.

Every time you install a mod, change your load order and so forth, the entire game world updates all stats and things, this can take a hour and more.

Once you have done this, save your game and the next time you boot with the same mods and same load order, the loading times aren ormal again.

So it's a one-time thing, for anyone else that might want to know.

I am sorry I missed the part about playing with mods I knew about that issue, and could have helped you sooner

Thanks for this update man! Was wondering why my game was taking so long to load. I deleted my original character and started over completely because I thought there was something wrong with my save. I'm actually sitting in a loading screen right now after downloading 2 new mods lol, going on 10mins or so of loading
