Magister Borris missing

Hey
I wanted to update the personnal mission from Ifan but Boris wasn't in front of the gates, there was the 2 archers and the dog but not Borris. I skipped the Dallis event to fight her later, does that have to do with something related to the mission?
I've been searching outside of the Fort and he can't be found anywhere, does somebody have an idea?

I know this is a very old question but given I ran into the same "issue" and was wondering where the hell Borris was for several minutes; yes, he and Timery are at the main gate until the Dallis event. So if you skip the Dallis event through the ladder, they wont be at the gates of the Fort and you cant talk to them yet.

Worth adding that Borris is not actually needed for Ifan's quest, he's essentially an optional step.

Just figured I'd comment for people who will wonder the same in the future and stumble here via search engine as well.

Yeah, if you kill him before learning that you need to talk to him, he'll have a note spawn on his body.
