Why I HATE GM Mode
I love the idea but there are some things that just make me mad when using it and make me want to turn the nonsense off and to uninstall the dumb game. Seriously.

1. Innate Skills (Bug?)
Whatever it is, DON'T GIVE THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ NPCS THE STUPID INNATE SKILLS BACK IF I DELETE THEM! I DELETE THEM FOR A REASON.

2. No way of creating characters
You can't create characters, like player like characters where the armor they wear suits the armor they have equipped, npcs that start with NO SKILLS AND ARMOR. This is a glaring problem since most of he useable templates have STUPID innate skills that you can't get rid off while also incredible limiting the usablitiy of races and models

3. Icons
Why does the icon not change? Why do they have icons and not just this old ambigious "random npc hidden face" icon. It sucks to have this stupid face when you entirely changed EVERYTHING about the character.

4. Constant bugs with little to no fixes and support
Larian doesn't give a damn about GM Mode. There were bugs that were not fixxed for a YEAR + despite them being well aware of them, such as stats resetting which could RUIN your entire campaign ( as it did for me once ). Now we have a new version, with new bugs that make it harder and harder to use.
Great.

I could rant on but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, it's REALLY easy to fix this stuff, isn't it? You don't even respond to it, forums are mostly dead and nobody gives a damn about GM Mode.

2: see above. The Blank NPCs will show equiped gear and weapons.
3: Portraits are rendered in the editor and not adaptive to chages in GM Mode. Unfortunately.
4: Not true. larian support is awesome.

the blank NPC mod doesn't really fix it. It avoids it and even then there are more than enough problems left, such as there being no way to change the icons or even just having ambigious Icons for random NPCs as they actually did have in Divinity 1s story.

And there is a reason why you should bugtest before pushing changes to NOT ruin the projects of EVERYONE every version change. The fact it still constantly breaks is NOT really acceptable. Test if everything works, if it doesn't fix it and THEN push the changes.

Anoying but can't be fixed due to how the engine works. hardly a gamebreaking problem.

You are new to gaming aren't you?
Kaleidio Sep 18, 2018 @ 1:03am
No, but imagine if every update broke every save you have.
Imagine it. If that's what you EXPECT from your games you are a moron, because hell that's retarded and if developers did this the whole time they'd be hounded. There are 2 real excuses :
Complete rework of the game and early access
It happening every few weeks with simple minor changes is ABSOLUTELY not acceptable.

That's what just about every update to every game ever does.
But whatever, just keep complaigning, I am off to enjoy both the editor and Gm Mode!

Are you kidding? Are you like actually this dumb?
You ask ME if I have every played games and you say stuff like that?
That's the most STUPID, IDIOTIC thing I have ever heard in these forums.

Not only new to games, but also new to steam huh?

Funny you call me idiotic and stupid though, after all you are the one who made the "I hate game master mode because I am too dumb and lazy to make it work they way i want it to work." post.

Also you seem oblivious to the fact that the Definitive Edtion isn't a patch or update, but a new and seperate game and you are upset about your old saves not working in a new a game?
Are you even for real?

No, I am talking about UPDATES. NOT DEFINITIVE EDITION. NORMAL UPDATES you genius.
You can make ANYTHING work with tons of work, THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT IS GOOD. YOUR ARGUMENT IS ♥♥♥♥. If it's good it should not require immense work from outside, it should not constantly break, it should not make people post online and wait for over a year for it to be patched. Now stop talking because all you say is "Hur dur just put work into something wich'll break anyway for no reason despite it generally being a pretty terrible tool".
If a game requires players to mod it and constantly fix things themselves it's not well made. THE END.
Heinz234 Sep 18, 2018 @ 7:06am
Nah, not the end, maybe for you though as you seem stuck on "I hate this" based on rediculous arguments and fail to recognise easy solutions to a problem that only excists for you due to your own inflexibility.

"I disagree so you are wrong". Right,
You fail to bring up any real points other than "you can totally fix it yourself", get lost.
If not, I'm just gonna ignore you

LOL. Comming from one that has nothing to say but
"I don't want to do anything to make this work for me myself even though a single mod would solve my problems. I want Larian to change this game so it works like I want instead of how they envision it"
That's actually funny.

if people need help in GM mode feel free to msg me, but yes it is not really a big supported thing and has flaws, but they fixed it up a bit and also it far better then nothing. (the mods are a definite and obvious need to have so good people pointed them out)

Bottom line, Larian studios needs to up their game on GM mode. Its complete trash.
Heinz234 Nov 9, 2018 @ 12:33am
Bottom line, DOS2 GM Mode is awesome, unless you want it to be a mini-mmo.

It's hardly "awesome." It's pretty neat, but there's much that could be done to ease the flow of a session and game prep.
