In the store, i saw a weapon with a skill on it, that i haven't seen before. I would need to buy the weapon to be able to see what the skill does. I don't want to be opening the wiki every time i see a new skill.
So i am wondering if you can see it without buying/equipping the weapon?
BG3 is a newer game, so it has features this one does not, like being able to mouse over a weapon stat card to see details of what it does. You need to find a different way in-game.
Most skills/spells that weapons come with are there basically as a free memory slot as a class using that weapon would most likely have the spell/skill already. So it just means you save having to memorize that spell to use it.
It’s rare that the spell on the weapon is there before it becomes available as a skillbook. The only time this might happen is if you find it from lucky charm in a location higher level than you or it’s on a unique tier item being sold. For instance, there’s a wand sold in the Driftwood market that has vaporize on it. I believe that spell is only available through crafting, so you’d never see it in a vendor inventory as a purchasable skillbook, you’d have to craft it. However, all non-source crafted spells are technically available from level 1 if you have the skillbooks to craft it.
Other than that, it should be available in book form from the appropriate vendor for you to view what it does. You’d have to buy the item otherwise.
