Undertavern pressure plates do nothing?

I've pressed the 2 undertavern pressure plates in Driftwood at the same time (with boxes) and nothing seems to have happened. Is it supposed to open that secret room off to the side? No door has opened up and I can't see another way in.

Should only be two, but you have to have them pressed at the same time. I generally find a chair one of the wandering NPCs sits in and throw the chair onto one of the plates. She'll walk over there to sit and you can stand on the other while a second character goes into the hidden room.

That's clever! I have both of the buttons depressed by boxes but nothing happens. I guess I'll try making sure it's a character who is on the plate and see how that goes. Otherwise I might be bugged :/

They require enough weight. The boxes might not be heavy enough. Stack some chairs on those boxes. The click sound will be different when its enough.

an easier way for lone wolfs: place a char w/ CnD or Tact Retreat on the nearest pressure plate to the secret room and use the skill before the door closes :/
