[spoilers] Stuck in The Academy
Is it possible that the "The Academy" quest on the Nameless Isle is bugged?

We have removed the temple barrier and proceeded to talk to The Eternal Arbiter, who keeps telling us that, even though we declare "we are ready", we still need to "go to the library to complete our studies". However, we have already fully cleared the library of any books and tablets (and read them), and used spirit vision to talk to all the ghosts in there. We have been looking in this library for hours and we literally can't find a way to have the Arbiter allow us to pass. We also tried killing the Arbiter, but she just respawns instantly.

It's also weird that our journal mentions "We have removed the temple barrier, and can proceed into the Temple" and then AFTER THAT mentions "We need to find a way into the Temple. From there, we can enter the Arena". Screenshot of this quest state here: https://i.imgur.com/fGjaHFO.jpg

Some more information about our game state on the Nameless Isle/Academy:
- We helped Gareth kill Alexander without asking him for information
- We went through all the gods' tombs (those we could find the entrance to) but only found a task in the elven one, which we completed
- We killed all Black Ring on the isle without asking them for information
- We killed the giant construct in the Arena of the Ages by lockpicking the door, we did this _before_ we went through the library/temple and realized we were stuck
- We entered the locked library room with the use of lockpicking rather than completing the puzzle

So now we are at a loss and for the first time seemingly just stuck simply because the Arbiter won't allow us to continue.
Has anyone else had this problem and somehow managed to advance?

Alright, so I figured out what the problem was in my situation.

Basically, a friend stopped playing around the time we reached Driftwood, and his character has therefore just been tagging along. That character thus did not complete all the rituals inside Meistr's basement, and that is what the Arbiter was talking about. Once I read those two tablets (one for Source Vampirism, one for Spirit Vision) while controlling that character, it also learned the skills, and the Arbiter finally let us through.

TL;DR: Make sure all your characters have both Source Vampirism and Spirit Vision skills unlocked.

Thanks a lot man. I was also stuck in this part with a character from a friend. :)

I am a little farther in the Temple of One, which happens right after the Arbiter lets you through.. When I went through, my six followers were split up and three stayed close enough to stay chained with me when I entered combat.

One of my problems is that Rhalic is impossible to injure. He resurrects his squad and keeps killing mine and I try to resurrect them on my turn. I only gave one resurrect scroll to each teammate and I know in the future to give them more. How do I kill him?

The other problem is that the Enemy's turn takes forever. I don't know if my mods are causing problems or if everyone has this issue. It got worse on The Nameless Isle. I should note that this is a GOG version. I think I got it on sale or something.

Any help would be appreciated!

In the library there are two tablets that teach you the skills if you open/read them while controlling the character that is lacking those skills.

I have forced my character to read all tomes... which one gives the vampirism? Cuz I still don't have it...

There are actual tablets in the library- not books that teach those skills, I can't recall if they are movable so they should still be there.
