Urgh reddit? You mean the toxic echochamber where any kind of unpopular opinion is downvoted? No thanks.
Hahahahaha
reddit and civil hahahaha I never thought I'd see the day that those two words were used in a sentence, hilarious.
Trust me. Take a look at the BG3 community and try to tell me that r/baldursgate3 is not civil compared to the amount of toxic children that want RTwP in the BG3 steam forum. You would be a better fit in LoL voice chat.
So instead of looking into how to counter what happened and trying again you want to vent it off and argue here? I mean, i find most people don't realize they want contention when they want it, but nevertheless it's what they seek lol.
Try this

I just began building him, i'm still on act 1 and restarted due to not really vibing with my setup. That happens A LOT with games like this, we'll jump in and get a little wet and realize we're not ready for the deep end and we should probably start over...
Depending on how far along you are, but alas! We have the mirror now to respec with! So you can just rebalance your team around what is giving you trouble.
Take for example that tank build... it pulls most of the aggro onto him and gives you time to setup better and react. Try it out.
Nah I already discussed the problem, the issue lies in deeper than my build, chain cc is a problem that can effect many different builds and it drastically limits build variety as a result. There is no good argument for it.
Maybe just maybe r/baldursgate3 is just full of fanboys like any other gaming subreddit you go to. Go onto literally any game subreddit you can think of and poat legitimate criticism and you'll be instantly downvoted.
Don't do that man, that thing where something has you defeated so you just slam your fists against it, all the while that little voice in the back of your heads keeps saying
https://youtu.be/JVp7Vok1C4s
Yet that ugly thing called pride won't let you concede.
Try one of the strategies offered to you here, or play something else.
God bless you sir.
Literally "Get Gud" is also a good answer, the AI just optimise the game-play to give them an advantage so you can use this 1 fight to improve your skills and knowledge so that it doesn't happen again.
Your initail message was saying that there is no balance in this game and implying the AI are OP because they, again, optimise the games mechanics to their advantage. So if you learn to:
1. Use these same tactics yourself
2. Work-out how to bypass the AI using them
then you will become a better player overall.
The AI doesn't have all the advantage either as they are scripted and so follow set rules that the player doesn't have to, i.e. move lava halfway across the map to instant kill an enemy boss. Plus with the right setup you can manage to 1-shot almost any character in the game.
Do what you will with ll this info but i just really think you should not judge an entire game based on 1 experience you had in it that made you rage-quit.
Hope you have a great rest of your day.
