Advice getting through locked doors
Hey all,
Not sure if this is worth creating a new thread, but i'm really in a bind.
I'm working on the quest Burying the Past. Teleported inside the house and i'm now trying to get through the door from the inside, as apparently you need to open it to progress. I cannot break down the door. Been attacking it over and over again and have broken 2 two-handed weapons so far. Obviously it should not take this much to break down a wooden door, so i feel like i'm doing something wrong but have no idea what.
I've tried ctrl clicking and also right clicking and explicitly selecting the attack option, no difference, i just attack over and over again futilely. My ranged characters can't attack it, says the door is 'out of sight'. There is also no health bar on the door so there's no way of telling whether or not something i try is working.
I feel like i've encountered this issue before where doors seem unbreakable and obviously this could be a roadblock to progressing in some parts of the game if i don't sort it out. Would really appreciate any advice anyone has to try to get around this.

Not sure specifically what door you're after, but generally speaking if you can't shoot the door with a bow, it isn't worth breaking it down. The only way to damage melee weapons is attacking random objects like doors. Its a waste of a weapon honestly, use a bow instead. If it can't be lockpicked, then it requires a key. You need to find that. Probably lacking the needed means of entry because you teleported in rather than figuring out how to open it.

Thanks for your response.
I gave up on the quest, there are a bunch of points at which the quest can break and the rewards are meh, so not worth the effort. Seems according to a couple forums I'm not the only one stumped by this one.

I mean, personally I don't know most quests by name since in the 700+ hours I've played I've only opened the journal like 20 times... Not really sure which one that is. By name, I'm guessing it might be Garreth's parents? Not sure though.

Yeah, Gareth's parents.
Seems really odd that the quest options diminish dramatically unless you head out that way as soon as you arrive in Driftwood.
