On the Ropes, Gwydian Rince Suiciding into the Necrofire..
Is there any way of stopping this stupid moronic idiotic one of the kind ai from killing himself? All he does it run back into the fire.. and then stands in it and dies. I have 4 healers.. with 2 heals each and he just won't even try to heal himself or stay in the blessed area.. but continually suicides into the primodials etc.. The soldiers are usually dead in 4-5 turns.. but this moron keeps getting himself killed no matter how many times I retry the stupid mission.

This is the typical ai.. I have all the void on other side of building, except a few on this side, Rince is standing under a shield, in blessed water, with restoration, fully healed, he's buffed to the teeth, all he needs to do is stand there and shoot the 2-3 voids directly in front of him and what does he do?

He climbs up and down the ladder... until he dies. If you teleport him to safely, he runs back through the riftfire and kills himself.. the whole point of the quest is to save him and it just isn't ♥♥♥♥ing doable. Because he's a ♥♥♥♥ing moron.

All Ai except those that are immune, stand outside of the fire. Rince is the only ai so far I've seen that does this stupid pathing.

Was buffing him with scrolls and spells as hard as I could.
Played 2 "wolves" oneshotted event on tactician.

Yep he's not very bright. so i resorted to making puddles of blessed water all along the top platform so he'd have a chance. Oh and burning every support spell i had on him..

you can remove necrofire with tornado (aero)
you can block the stairs and the ladder with boxes (so that the guy doesn't run anywhere)
you can use permafrost (hydro (makes target immune to damage, freezes it and heals it when the effect is over))
you can swap surfaces with poly to remove some necrofire from under him
you can use angel from warfare (share 50% damage with tank)
you can teleport the guy to the gates, jump after him and bottleneck the voidlings
you can also bless the necrofire

You should be able to block the ladder with one character, and the ramp with two. That should keep him on the high ground. That fight was a pain to do >_>

This is genius.. if I can make a box prison, I can put him inside it, which should remove him from the fight completely.. or even 3 boxs against an edge.

The other items require spells, some of which are hard to find. The main issue is him running back through fire, every step does damage. Healing him is fairly easy as my own guys tend to fight from specific locations, I can also block ladders and stairs with summons.

I'll try this on my new run, I killed mordus and various others before I realised I need them to help me with other quests, so restarted a 3rd time.

Game is alot easier, when you know what you're doing.

Finally, it's a pretty important mission since you're asked by 2 people to save him.

I did it with one character (classic mode), with the following setup :

Inquisitor/Battlemage (call it what you want) with Two Handed, Warfare, Pyro, Aero, Hydro.
Phase 1 : Don't kill anyone, just let the Voidwaken jump on the platform. Then, use "Teleportation" on this dumbass and throw him as far as you can on the left side of the map, then follow him with Phoenix Dive. Then, just wait. At least half the Voidwaken should fight the Magister, and the warrior always end up setting the ground on fire, dealing tons of damages to everyone. Just kill anything that comes near you.

Phase 2 : As soon as the Fire Voidwakens appear, try to stop the fire at least around you. (Btw, can someone tell me if blood rain extinguish this kind of fire ? I forgot to try it). Then again, kill anything that comes near you. If the other boilhead is going to die, teleport him away again, then follow him. It'll give you time to heal him. I personnaly had Cryogenic Statis, Restoration and Armour of frost. The last spell is quite important since the Voidwakens deal magic damage.

Hope it will help some fellows, and sorry if I made some english mistakes.

Rain and blood rain only extinguish normal fire, but if you cast bless on the necrofire, then rain or bloodrain, you get a healing spring.

Honestly, just have all of your characters flee, then talk to hannag telling her you freed him, she will teach you how to take source from animals and when you come back all you need to do is finish off the straglers and collect a really good spell book from gwydian's dead body. thats how I did it.

I teleported the Ranger off the lower platform to near my party by the gate. This started the fight, but for some reason Gwydian never summoned the void slimes. Made the fight super easy! Don't know how repeatable this is.

I just let him burn. I'm not a baby sitter.

Yes, he is really annoying, but you can make him survive. I kept healing and buffing him with magic armor to make him survive. Needed three tries.

This is exactly how I did it, teleported him off the platform and then talked to him. At the end of the conversation, his quest updated to having him escape from the magisters, and no fight was started. I then could fight the magisters without the oil blob critters spawning.
