Upgrade other armor alongside devourer armor

I completed the hunger from beyond quest and noticed that when the devourer armor got upgraded the other different non-devourer pieces of armor also got upgraded, then I put a piece of the set on each of my characters and found out both their armors were upgraded, although this doesn't work in with the contamination set.

Yeah, the set items will all level up to their best version once you complete the set.

I dont think you can use the others to do this though, since here you only need one piece of the set to upgrade every armor piece you are wearing devourer set or not
