Peeper alive but missing, is there any way to summon him?

I first got peeper like 5 hours of gameplay ago, and although he is alive I have no idea where he is. I checked where I thought he might have got stuck and see nothing. Is there any way to summon him to my location so I can finish the quest?

So I have gone through all of my manual saves between now and then, and have figured out that I lost him sometime between getting Higbe out of the docks and away from the magisters. I searched the cellar in that area thinking maybe he got stuck down there, but found nothing. This chicken is gone to atoms as far as I can tell, but counting your chickens is still active.

If you’re searching for him, turning on the various unit highlight options for non-combat might help highlight him if he managed to get stuck, especially if he is clipping inside something.

He's not, if he dies the quest "Counting Chickens" closes. I still have the quest

Look for a corpse right near the place where the elf is using contamination spores

what Im saying is I KNOW he's not dead. If he dies, the quest closes. The quest IS NOT CLOSED in my journal.
