The Red Prince missing (really missing)

I was playing with The Red Prince as a companion and at some point I decided to try Beast out. I think that was before leaving Fort Joy. Anyway, when I went to get The Red Prince back (I think that was after leaving For Joy), he was nowhere to be found. I mean nowhere. Not in Fort Joy and not in Amadia's Sanctuary. Not in the platform overlooking the sea (some people said he would be there). So I kept playing with Beast and did almost everything there is to do in Act 1, except the last battle in the main quest and also the last part of The Red Prince quest, obviously.
I've been literally all over the map (Fort Joy and Hollow Marshes). I've been also all over the web looking for an answer. Nothing. I'm positive this is a bug.
I'm even registering to Larian Studios forum to inform this.
Still, I'm hoping someone has an answer.

Just checked the beach again (haven't done that in a while) and he's there! Now I can go on with the game (I wanted all companions available before finishing this act).
Still feels like a bug though, because I thought that all companions were supposed to be at Amadia's Sanctuary after you leave Fort Joy.
