It's a lower chance, it doesn't say that the will always ignore the character with stench

Is the other character(s) on your team tanky with shields and the like? It makes them less likely to be targeted, but if the other options you present have too many qualities that make them a target the AI will avoid, then the Stench talent doesn’t reduce it enough to make the character a lower priority. This means that even with stench, they’ll still be focused.

Another way to think about it would be to use a number system. Imagine that proximity to the enemy, your overall armor protection and the average amount of damage you deal are all considered. If the overall value of priority on your ranged character is say 70 and the priority of your tanky melee (assuming you only have the two) is 40, the stench talent would have something like a -20 effect. However, that’d still put your ranged as a higher threat than the other character, making them the main focus. This is why a STR warrior with a shield is pointless. All that physical armor means that nothing is going to prioritize them for physical damage anyway.

Note, the above numbers are just a made up example. I don’t actually know how the AI prioritization works.

so, i just tested this while fighting mordus after he transformed, i got 1 2h warrior, incarnet and bonewidow, then i have my archer with stench, he ignored everything, rushed my archer and killed him, so i revived him off the platform, mordus goes straight for him again ignoring everything, this goes on for like 3-4 times, he just keept jumping after him up and donw the platform untill i just stop bother ing reviving untill i can keep mordus knocked down, most retared thing i have seen in a long time,

What? How is that bad that's literally good AI. Why would Mordus go after the strongest in your party when he can easily focus down the weakest?

Well, stench is supposed to make melee attackers focus that character less, and with 3 other targets ne should been the last prio, and btw, if you dont understand the context, dont mkae stupid comments

I mean you're at fault for getting stench in the first place it's a completely pointless talent. Mordus is one of the easiest bosses in the game too if you CC lock him he can't transform, and then he's no stronger than a white magister or someone of the sort.

OP is clearly attempting to provide evidence that Stench isn't working at all. You don't have to jump up his ass for taking the talent because it's "useless" when that's what he's attempting to establish in the first place.

I've always viewed Stench as a bad talent, but based on OP's evidence, it's looking like it may not even be functional, which is totally different.

Things that make the enemies focus certain targets often don't work and the devs never fixed it.You should never use the taunt spell or take the stench talent.

If you want your squishy targets to survive you have a better chance of doing it by using the evade and invisibility spells.

Taunt does actually work in my experience though.

No it doesn't.It does sometimes work but I've tried to make a tank build with retribution work more than once and the enemies just ignored the taunt and attacked the other character way too often.

Obv it is useless prob been nerfed, not played in a few years, and no one ever said anything about mordus being a hard boss either, so dont get the point really, just me trying out if it works, but i am sure it makes you look cool that you think he is easy just like eveyone else does, pointless to bring up since hid have nothing to do with what i was talking about

yea, seams like it´s the only thing that works now

"Melee combatants find you less attractive" =/= never get attacked in melee. As someone up there said, it most likely does decreases your chance of being targetted, but not enough to always matter.

Yeah, especially if your allies have shields or more armor/hp in general, the stench talent doesn't do anything and is a waste of a talent point.
