How did voidwoken spiders make my character permanently blind?

I thought I was all done with Justinia/Deathfog plotline. Got rid of Isbeil, shut down the deathfog, all that. But on my way out (heading towards the Sewers fast travel point) I ran into a bunch of spiders. Had a tough battle mainly because the deatfog kept killing my guys. But finally I won

But afterwards, my "tank" character, the Red Prince, is permanently blind. No spell will fix the problem. I've heard that saving the blindfolds from the arena can fix it but those I sent to the Lady Vengeance. (And now that it has crashed, I can no longer get on board to get my stuff that I've been sending there. No "Hall of Echose" option. grrrr....)

Does anyone know how this that one battle could make a character blind? What to avoid?

Sounds like a bug. Try to kill and res him, usually it removes statuses.

Status Fixer - Definitive Edition

Just get that from the workshop, it's a known bug with many status effects

Appreciate the reply. I guess they didn't fix it all the way though because I already have the Definitive Edition.

So weird. I know I played this through once before and was able to get back on the Lady Vengeance.

The good news is it wasn't too many saves ago when I sent the last blindfold to storage there, on the LV (thinking, "I'll never need this again..." Ha)

No, he's saying there is a mod called "status fixer" that is appended with "definitive edition" to denote that the mod works with definitive edition. You don't need to go to a previous save, you can just use that mod to remove the status.
I'm more concerned that you can't get to the lady vengeance in the hall of echoes.

This is getting even weirder I kept trying to go to the ship. As I mentioned before I literally had no option for the Hall of Echoes. Finally I exited the game altogether.

Then later I came back with my save with the blind characters and then loaded it up later, I had the option to go to the Hall of Echoes again.

OK, great. So I go there, get the blindfold, put it on, take it off and my blindness is healed.

Now i've gone through a couple more battles and everything seems to be fine. Then, while I'm in the city, I notice he is blind yet again.

Only this time the blindfold thing does not work. The moment I take it off, he is still blind.

.... and now I go back one or two quicksaves and suddenly he is not blind anymore

Ha. That's good way of putting it. I do not have any mods though Just the DE.

Anyway just to close this out. I finally figured it out. Something really dumb on my part.

It's his weapon. Something called "Truthseeker". It blinds you while you hold it. I think I must have just picked i up before that first Voidwoken battle. The blindfold did seem to fix it once. But the second time it happened I had unequipped it for a second and when I re-equipped it, the effect took hold again. Then the blindfold could not help.

I guess I had heard about items that did stuff like that but this is the first time I ever found one. Damn I wish I hadn't sold his last sword. It's gonna cost a chunk of change to buy it back

I believe if Malady dies there is no LV in halls of echo.
