My point isn't whether this build works on him or not. The point I'm trying to figure out is why this is the build you're calling Ifan's "best" when there are simply better builds out there as well as very few reasons why Ifan works better for this build than others. Not that you've been too specific about what this build is all about in the first place.
Because it goes well with Ifan. In chapter 1, go finess and wit at a 1:1 ratio, getting priority to most battles, and using the glass cannon talent, you will find that human's passive and active skill(ingenious and encourage) fit so well. You don't have to wear a shapeshifting mask. it's a matter of choice. And ifan's Wolf is viable in chapter 1 with 'Glass cannon' talent. Do you understand? And Glass cannon talent is good with wits build. So, Wits archer. And, it fits well with ifan's character concept.
You don't have to use wolf after you get better option. But in chapter 1 you don't have a choice. And ifan's wolf with zero summoner skill is also usable in chapter 1 because it has Howl that taunt enemies. That's the point.
